UltraGuest vs Webweav.ing
Webweav.ing is a guestbook service from the 32-Bit Cafe, a community around personal websites. It was announced on the community's forum on 25 February 2026 as part of a set of "tools for the indie web", and its site describes it as being in a beta state. UltraGuest has hosted guestbooks since 2003. The two take different approaches: Webweav.ing is built to be embedded in your page, UltraGuest is a page you link to. Everything said about Webweav.ing here was read on its own website, on the 32-Bit Cafe services page and in the announcement thread in September 2026 and is reported without judgement; a young service changes quickly, so please check webweav.ing for the current details. UltraGuest is not affiliated with Webweav.ing or the 32-Bit Cafe.
What they have in common
Both are free. Both give the guestbook a page at the service's own address: Webweav.ing lets you switch embedding off and link to that page instead, which is how UltraGuest always works. Both have a dashboard where messages can be removed or hidden. Neither page mentions advertising: UltraGuest states that it has none, and Webweav.ing's pages do not bring the subject up.

Which one is for you?
If you are part of the 32-Bit Cafe community and want a guestbook that drops into your page as a Web Component or an iframe, with no ads mentioned and the people who built it a forum post away, Webweav.ing is made for exactly that; it is early enough that features such as replies and word filters are still arriving, which is part of the appeal if you like to watch a tool grow with its community. If you want approval, a word filter, IP blocking, private messages, 24 languages, custom CSS, notifications and export in place today, from a service that has run for over twenty years, and a link is all your site needs, that is UltraGuest. Both are free, so you can try each with your own site.
Webweav.ing details were checked on webweav.ing, 32bit.cafe and the announcement thread on discourse.32bit.cafe in September 2026 and may have changed since; please verify current features and terms there. Webweav.ing and the 32-Bit Cafe are the property of their owners; UltraGuest is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
