UltraGuest vs HTML Comment Box

UltraGuest vs HTML Comment Box

HTML Comment Box and UltraGuest both let visitors leave messages on your website, in two different shapes: HTML Comment Box is a comment widget that you paste into your page, UltraGuest is a guestbook page hosted on our servers that you link to. Everything said about HTML Comment Box here was read on its own website (home page, guestbook page, pricing and help pages) in September 2026 and is reported without judgement; please check htmlcommentbox.com for current details. UltraGuest is not affiliated with it.

Widget or page

With HTML Comment Box you copy a JavaScript snippet from its site and paste it into your page; the comment box then appears inside your page, where visitors write and read comments in place. Its site allows one box per page and says not to place it inside an iframe. With UltraGuest you paste a link (the Control Panel gives you the code for a "View Guestbook" or "Sign Guestbook" link); visitors open the guestbook as its own page and return through a link to your site. A widget keeps people on your page; a hosted page adds no script to your HTML and works anywhere a link works, including sites where you cannot add scripts.

Which one is for you?

If you want comments inside your page, threaded replies and visitors notified when someone answers them, HTML Comment Box is built for that, and its paid plans remove the ads. If you want a classic guestbook as its own page, a stylesheet you control, no advertising, no Google account to moderate and nothing added to your HTML but a link, which is also what a free Neocities site allows, that is UltraGuest. Both have a free option, so try each with your own site.

HTML Comment Box details were checked on htmlcommentbox.com (home page, guestbook page, pricing, help) in September 2026 and may have changed since; please verify current features, prices and terms there.
