| Message | I looking for a picture of the KC-135 steam jet. 1970's pictures if available. I tried looking on your website and page would not load. I flew as a boom operator in KC-135's from 1975 till 1982. Then on to the KC-10 until retirement in 1996. Thanks. |

| Message | E-4 Sgt. assigned to 410 Security Police Squadron from 10 Oct 1978 until 30 May 1982. I worked with the Recovery Team when F-106 590101 crashed in the Ottawa national Forest near L'Anse, Mi 19 Jul 1979. Also worked a crash of an F-4 from Duluth ANG (can't remember the date, but it was cold). That crash was near Baraga, Mi. around the same year. |

| Message | I was stationed at K.I. Sawyer AFB from Feb, 1974 to May, 1975. I was in the 410th SPS squadron as a flight chief in law enforcement. I'm from Oklahoma and had never seen that much snow in my life. I wasn't comfortable with the snow but I learned how to survive in it. My thoughts have always been that the people living in the U.P. are very strong and durable people. Overall I had a good experience there and actually liked it. It was SAC and that was good. |

| Message | I transferred to the 56th Fighter Wing in May 1961, serving in the 56th CAMRON as an aircraft electrician. In 1962, SAC took over, and the 56th was deactivated and converted to the 62nd F.I.S. I remember one morning working on the flight line at 40 degrees below zero. In 1964 I was released from active duty and served at the K.I.S Base Exchange as a manager until 1967. The primary incident during that time was the Cuban crisis, when we disbursed most of the fighters to alternate bases for the DEFCON 2 alert. It doesn't seem like over 50 years ago. I still vacation in the U.P. from Florida during some summers. |
