| Message | Just found this sight and plan to keep up with it. I was stationed at KI from 1975-1982, in the 410th Jet shop, worked test cell, Apu shop and was FMS Dorm manager till my family and I left for Travis in 82. I also learned to scuba dive under Bill(Ret. CMSgt) and Kathy Gassett, if you can and want to see some of the most interesting and exciting scenery in the UP, then Lake Superior has it. Thanks for the great site. |

| Message | I was stationed at KI Sawyer from 1975 to 1978. Just out of Basic & Tech School. Never saw snow in my life! It was a beautiful location though remote. Enjoyed my tour there. I haven't had a chance to visit the area since 1978. I hope to take a nostalgic trip back up to the UP soon. Currently living in NC but never forgot the UP and KI Sawyer. I was in the 2001st and worked in a electronics maintenance shop next to the Command Center. It seems so long ago and yet still remember some things as if yesterday. I didn't realize how young I was back then. Oh, hello Ted Stutzman. Thank you for letting me reminisce! |
