| Message | I know about Daniel and his family through my sister-in-law and Dan's aunt, Ann Dicken. When you pray for someone you become very close without really knowing them personally. Daniel's plight has had a profound effect on many ,many people. Thank you to his father and Ann for allowing us to be involved in spirit. Many people in Danville, IL will continue to be praying for peace for all of Daniel's family and friends. |

| Message | Dear Mercer Family and Friends; I did not know Daniel, but am sitting out here in CA with tears in my eyes. I miss my home state of Indiana and regularly read the Indy Star online. I am once again reminded of why I love the folks "back home" so much. God Bless you all and be comforted by your love for each other and for Daniel. I am sure you brought much happiness into Daniel's life as well. He sounds like a real "pistol" as my dear Granny would say. You will be in my thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come. | Message | Our family is saddened by the loss of Daniel. I can't imagine what you as parents are going through. After losing my mother to cancer 2 1/2 yrs. ago i enjoyed reading of Daniel's couragous battle, my what a fight he gave!! I am certain he did not want to leave you but rest assured that you will all be together again someday. Also know that Daniel is pain free and able to run those bases and focus on that pitch once again! I'm sure he's hitting line drives and homeruns in heaven. Also know that your family's struggle has been an inspiration to all of us. Know that you are not alone in your pain as we are all praying for you. God will see you through to some brighter days ahead. |

| Message | I am a Child Life Specialist at Methodist. I didn't know Daniel very well, but he was always so polite and friendly when I brought movies or games or to tell him about an event going on.
