| Message | To the Mercer Family: Denny called us with the news about Daniel Monday evening, and I can't tell you how sad we all are. Daniel put up such a brave fight, and really brought out the best in everyone around him. I have been following his battle since the beginning, checking the website each day to see his progress and read such wonderful stories, about a person who did not give up. We continue to pray for all of you and hope that Daniel's spirit will keep you all through this awful time. | Message | Dear Mercer Family, I know you don't know me...but I work for WCBK radio in Martinsville. I had a chance to see and broadcast, one of Daniel's last football games in the fall of 2004. Franklin played at Mooresville. It was a game we tape-delayed and played after the Martinsville game. I may still have the tape. I will start looking for it. I remember it specifically because I recall talking about his Brother and Dad. I had also worked at the Shelbyville and Rushville radio station and had interviewed Jeff Sr. when he was head coach of the baseball team. I just want you all to know that I may not have known Daniel personally, I am truly sorry for your loss. I was impressed by Jeff Sr. in just the short times I had talked to him a few years ago. I know you are a strong Christian family and God will bring you through all of this. I also work part-time as a Youth Minister, and it always breaks my heart to see this happen to God's children. So...please know I am praying for you all, and will continue to do so. I will try to come Thursday evening, but I am not sure if I will be able to make it.
