| Message | To the Mercer Family: Denny called us with the news about Daniel Monday evening, and I can't tell you how sad we all are. Daniel put up such a brave fight, and really brought out the best in everyone around him. I have been following his battle since the beginning, checking the website each day to see his progress and read such wonderful stories, about a person who did not give up. We continue to pray for all of you and hope that Daniel's spirit will keep you all through this awful time. Pam, Jeff, Jeff, Anthony, and Joe we are thinking of you and praying that you all have healing time and wonderful memories of life with Daniel to carry you on. God Bless you All, we are so sorry. | Message | Dear Jeff, Pam, Jeff, Joe, and Anthony... We so deeply mourn the loss of your beloved Daniel on Monday. This little angel was sent to you 19 years ago to teach us all about the precious gift of life. Daniel was a lover of life as was evident from the personal stories everyone carries in their hearts. Your life reflects the Christian family, its joys and sorrows. and the HOPE for the future... Daniel was truly a gift to so many, you will never know. We thank you for your courage, your faith, your steadfastness, your strength, your love which you have shown to everyone whom has followed Daniel's journey. We pray that God's blessings are bestowed upon you now in your sorrow, and tomorrow in your peace, knowing Daniel is being loved and cared for by Jesus himself and for all eternity. WE LOVE YOU D! Our heartfelt prayers are with you all Jeff and Pam, and dear J, Joe, and Anthony. Love Always, Your friends |

| Message | Dear Mercer Family, I know you don't know me...but I work for WCBK radio in Martinsville. I had a chance to see and broadcast, one of Daniel's last football games in the fall of 2004. Franklin played at Mooresville. It was a game we tape-delayed and played after the Martinsville game. I may still have the tape. I will start looking for it. I remember it specifically because I recall talking about his Brother and Dad. I had also worked at the Shelbyville and Rushville radio station and had interviewed Jeff Sr. when he was head coach of the baseball team. I just want you all to know that I may not have known Daniel personally, I am truly sorry for your loss. I was impressed by Jeff Sr. in just the short times I had talked to him a few years ago. I know you are a strong Christian family and God will bring you through all of this. I also work part-time as a Youth Minister, and it always breaks my heart to see this happen to God's children. So...please know I am praying for you all, and will continue to do so. I will try to come Thursday evening, but I am not sure if I will be able to make it. I will mention Daniel on my sportscasts on Wednesday. If you would like to reach me for any reason...please feel free to email me: [email protected], or call: 317-627-7385. May God Bless You all!! Sincerely, Joel Brantingham |
