| Message | hi ebbingnight Well I am encouraged by your words. It has been with me so long I feel like everyone must know what's coming up. Elrond's punishment is direct, Thranduil's more subtle and insidious and so much more cruel. Perhaps that seems unfair, but there will be additional reprisals for Elrond and those he loves will furnish much of the penance. He will also take pains to make amends on his own, finally realising the depths to which he has fallen. sorry it is taking so long but things are working much better now. I just need to finish upsopme work on my daughter's house today and tomorrow and then my time is once again all my own (when not at work ).I am strongly leaning toward completing Feud here and now, but do not worry, I will post this update rather than make folks wait for that. |

| Message | Hello dear, Maybe what comes next in "Feud" is entirely predictable to you (and perhaps to Stef), but it isn't to me. So you *do* have at least some clueless readers who are patiently waiting for the next chapter and wondering what might happen now! I so want to see Elrond and Thranduil face up to their separate responsibilities for having caused that much pain and grief to Legolas (and others)!! ![]() |

| Message | Hi stef It should not be too much longer now,the update is finally coming together the way I wanted it too. What has been so hard is the part about punishing Elrond. It was not originally part of the story and so I had to figure out how to get that in there. First try was a complete failure, just did not ring true, so I had to throw it all out and start again. Now that has been finished and I am writing the parts that 'belong' at this point in the story, which includes an interesting glimpse backwards into Legolas' days alone in the wild. yes, Lindalcon is just about beyond hope, but two things give him a slim chance of surviving: the first you mentioned already, Legolas' example is an inspiration to him and his baby brother and sister need him. secondly, his determination to be the kind of elf his father will be proud of. Valtamar would not want him to give up and fade. Lindalcon is operating under several false assumptions, however, which is not so uncommon among the young and inexperienced. If only Haldir had had more time to devote to him maybe none of this would be happening now. But then, how ever would I advance this story to its climax????? so Lindalcon is the catalyst for what is to come. I worry that what has been planned for so long is so predictable now yet I am just going to write it out as envisioned, modified by almost universal hope that Legolas will emerge victorious, healed and happy. thanks for your patience : |

| Message | sad as it is perhaps lindalcoln cannot be saved: he has been shattered to the core from his mother's betrayal and the knowledge of existing only to permit meril to call upon the ancient law... but on the other hand being legolas' brother has tought him that it is possible to survive nearly everything if you have a reason to, and he has his siblings. please update soon! |

| Message | hi Stef I agree 100% about sicilians. my daughter went with her fiance to meet the family last summer and fell in love with everything about the people, the culture, the island - everything. they love her to pieces too even though she can't speak italian yet. she's working on it i will see to it rochendil and Co. are suitably punished. His treatment of Legolas over the years was horrible and the others just stood by and laughed. i want to save Lindalcon if i can and so I do NOT want him to find and kill the vile horse-master. another way must be found. Thranduil has been terrible for a very very long time. what he is going through now might just wake him up to his cruelty. seemed he was beginning to open his eyes as Legolas' retrial progressed, so there is a little light left in his soul after all. Now,the trouble is Meril. Seems he has given over his heart finally only to learn his choice is completely corrupt and merely used him. I don't believe she is capable of love. I think her soul died centuries ago when that baby sister, left for her to raise, died as well. We will get some musing about that as the wizards attempt to put their two-cents worth in and stop whatever Thranduil intends for her. Aiwendil is especially eager to stop any more tortures. I don't know how much father and son can heal. Legolas is inclined to forgive and maybe Thranduil can do something dramatic to show his remorse is genuine. I am dwelling on that quite a bit lately. |

| Message | marrying a sicilian? wow, i'm married to one also, they are generous and full of passion toward their family, their friends and life in general...they also love to have fun together (the sicilian idea for a family dinner is inviting at least 20 people, cooking for 50 and spend hours around the table trying to eat everything) i wish her all the best and wait for your e-mail if you will be around here. the van is great, and this is a great news. I'm sorry about Chester. there's no way to keep him? the idea to have him trained for blind people is fantastic (and speak volumes about you!) now you have me worried for legolas and for his siblings. however i hope that rochendill & friends will meet a properly gruelling end (they deserve it!). last but not least, and don't be surprised: i know thranduil is a pig, but please don't be too cruel with him. i would see him and legolas finding an inderstanding. he has been cruel, but perhaps old wounds can be healed or soothed for both of them. |

| Message | Hi Stef I am much much better now, thank you so much. I confess I still have not resumed the treadmill training, but Monday that will change. Ah, it would be great to return to Europe and this time go to Italy! My younger daughter is marrying a Sicilian, so it could happen. I could take a boat from the island to the mainland. So, if you get an email from me saying meet me at the da Vinci statue don't be surprised Well, Legolas has a terrible ordeal to go through right about now. But remember he has Erestor now. He will survive it, promise, and we will get to see him strong and healed in the end. The dragon egg died But, there are plenty more so I am not too devastated The van is wonderful! She is getting 20 mph and enduring a gruelling 50 mile per day commute. no worried, she's only got 123,000 miles on the engine. She'll go another 75,000 before I have to worry. My new worry is Chester. I love Chester, but I cannot figure out how to keep him. I would have to have my own place immediately upon completing the relocation, something that has never happened before. sigh. I am thinking of donating him to be trained as a guide dog for the blind. |

| Message | Thank you Alexa I live for encouragement such as this. I am writing hard now, working on this Feud update. 11000 words in and finally making good progress on it. much to address that advances the story toward its conclusion. Thank you again for letting me know you enjoy the stories ![]() |
