MessageHello dear,

An epilogue for Barad to come? Wow, what a special treat! I hope that might show whether Osse suffered any "retribution" (from his wife perhaps?) for what he did to Maglor and Elladan? I loved the ending chapter, with the two of them together on the beach, but I *was* wondering about all those who manipulated their initial meeting--- and not exactly with the best of intentions. I was delighted to see a happy ending, because I really didn't expect one after such a misguided beginning to their relationship!

Messagehi stef smilie

ah, an interesting thought, but i would need to work on it a bit to make it fit the tri-part faith of the Nandor. Maybe male/female/Tawar? it could work. smilie

No i have not read GG Kay's work.I will have to look for it but to be honest i try to read stuff completely alien to what i write because if i like an author i start imitating style, not on purpose but it happens. yes, my style could stand improvement but not by assuming someone else's smilie i like to read old stuff like henry james, or non-fiction biographies.

yes i think the epilogue is needed. could have been the final chapter but i needed to be able to feel like it was finished and done.

thanks again for such great ideas and feedback smilie

MessageHi!
there will be an epilogue to fortress of dreams (I'm not able to write anything in elvish, sob!), that is going to tie all the strings, so nice, even if i loved the final you wrote "he sang of elladan", beutiful image having maglor sing the praise of the elf who saved and healed him with his love.

as for balrog, in fact i was also reasoning about the three way credo of the wood elves and thought that having legolas represent the sum and the epitome of male and female, like the one being perfect in and for him/herself. on the Nandors' beliefs I found it similar to what expressed by GG Kay in the novel "Tigana". did you ever read it or kay's other works? i love his writing...

MessageThank you Stef smilie I am so glad I put that in about Elrohir; it has resonated with everyone. It just felt right to me, too. Yes you are right about Elrond who has made many errors in raising these two, and it is because he hoped to prevent what happened to Elros. We will get to see his thoughts on it all in the epilogue, as well as the situation that took Erestor to Greenwood, Ossë's punishment, and a glimpse at Elrohir's family life.

yes, Feud is up next. taking deep breaths now before the plunge. smilie

now that is an interesting idea for balrog smilie i had not thought of doing that but it certainly is intriguing. it would really make things interesting in the later stories in that universe. perhaps i will. let me think about it and play with the idea a bit.
thank you again smilie

MessageAi Valar! that was fantastic!
elrohir felt betrayed by his brother too...
it is so difficult for everyone to grow up and develop an indipendent persona, for them it must have been unexpected and so more difficult (especially if elrond counted on having his children depending on each other so much that they would not be separated as he and elros were..)
well done!!
next up feud, evviva!
completely out of topic: legolas and the balrog. I re-read the chapter in which legolas greets the noldorin guests(fifty time? sixty?) and was just thinking about sirgell words: never been a tawarwaith anu before and legolas is unique? what about him being inu-anu? (thought this before aearlinn but didn't know how you could consider the idea, as you never did an mpreg before)...
okey, random crap finished for this evening.
as always thank you for sharing your talent

MessageHi Stef! smilie

Thank you for the great praises and feedback.I am pleased the scene held some surprises.i never know and sometimes, I lose perspective, because I know the whole story and I start feeling like it is all there and everyone can see the end and thus it would be boring.so posting this chapter took effort and produced much anxiety, also because of the harshness of Maedhros' punishment in comparison to Maglor's, who has suffered madness and grief without end. Maybe the Valar think that Maedhros, as eldest, could have stopped the second and third kinslayings, and then there is that part in the Sil where Maglor tries to reason with him and talk him out of it but fails, and follows along with him. I do think Amras and Amrod can redeem themselves in Mandos eventually.I would love to write a story about them being reborn and returning to Middle-earth. I would pair them up with Elladan and Elrohir smilie

oh i am glad you have not forgotten Nestaron smilie I was just thinking about it the other day as a matter of fact and thinking maybe I should go ahead and put what I have on the website. I have the next chapter ready to write but of course can't just yet, but i will get back to it. I might be able to get it done in between other stories.

the van is doing well now after $1000 dollars investment. it is a lot of money but that is why i took this horrible job.still needs breaks and tires, but later. and a tune up too.

Thank you again! smilie
