Thank you for those kind words; there is nothing to forgive smilie

Now I feel obligated to warn you of Feud, especially just after reading Snowscene. Better to read Legolas and the Balrog as it is the same view of Greenwood and Legolas family. Feud is very dark and ugly and some of the most famous characters act in terrible ways. Of course I want people to read Feud, but I just want you to be prepared for what it is first. smilie

Glad you found me and I am very pleased you enjpyed Snowscene. That was so much fun to write.

MessageThis is the first of your stories I've read. What a wonderful vision of Middle Earth you've created. I can hardly wait to start reading Feud. Also your website is amazing. Such beautiful artwork. Ok, now I'm gushing...please forgive me.

oh i am so happy this chapter both pleased and surprised you smilie

That awful vision Lindalcon had of the forest - i was hoping it would make a strong impression just the way you describe it. He is quite beyond his element and just beginning to realise it. smilie Legolas to the rescue, of course, but what will remain to save when he catches up?

I am really really glad for your comments about Elrond's redemption. That is exactly what I have been thinking and feeling and why it was so hard to write that scene. In the back of my mind was the worry that, as written, Elrond might use the incident to gather more self-pity and indignant affront, determined to maintain his status as the injured party. Without that bit of introspection, and probably only possible because of the spirits and Fearfaron's prodding combined, he would not benefit from the punishment.

love your take on the werewolves, their ability to care about Legolas, and Lindalcon by extension, where as the Wood Elves shunned and reviled him, pretty much all his life. The way you worded that, likening them to monsters, as the humans in the woods most likely would see them, probably gave them a sense of instant affinity with Legolas, also feared and cast out from his home.

Thank you for so many kind words smilie Feud is hard and feedback really helps.

MessageHello dear,

I was right: I didn't expect what you did with these three new chapters at all!

What I really loved: the description of the desolate (and desolated) forest without Tawarwaith there as a guide and guardian.

The way that Erestor was used as Elrond's instrument of "punishment," because really only someone close to him would know what would torment Elrond most: the final realization that if *anyone* did to Arwen what was done to Legolas, he wouldn't rest until the culprit was thoroughly punished. This, more than the whipping itself, is what is needed for Elrond to attempt to redeem himself in future, I think. Remorse has to come from within, and this is (at last!) a start towards making amends for his inconceivably vile machinations.

The "werewolf" incident, as it was not only an amazing fantasy in itself, but also shows that even *monsters* were kinder to Legolas than his own kin and compatriots when he most needed it.

So well worth the wait: thank you again!

MessageHi Cecilia smilie

I am pleased you approve of Elrond's punishment and progress. Yes, the brothers are not in good circumstances but I agree,if Lindalcon must suffer a dire fate, Rochendil must suffer even more.

Meril will have a fittingly horrible punishment, worst of all the rest. smilie

MessageI am worried for both brothers of the heart, but I think it is good that Elrond has realised what he has done. Now for that horsemaster who needs to face his doom alongside Meril.

I am so glad you agree we need to keep Thranduil and make him a better elf. what the spirits are going to do to him will make it so. Elrond, when next we meet him, will be more recognisable as the elf of the Fellowship. He will have to undergo his trial and admit his wrongs and then he will undertake something that will clearly indicate he is at last on the right track.

Yes those werewolves came into my head so long ago and I've held back so it would be a surprise. I liked having them understand Legolas' importance even before he realised it himself, too.

yes, i am chasing Lindalcon as we speak! you must tell me if your suspicions prove true; I will try to get this chapter out in a shorter interval this time smilie
thank you again

Messagehi! thank you for this update, even if youleft us on a cliff yet again, you evil woman!!
so, thranduil and elrond are getting both some of what they earned... this pelases me, but you are right they both deserve to be salvaged for a greater purpose (and you know my opinion on it: the king must salvaged also for his first born's sake).
quite strange to meet the werewolves in this story, though you always have a way of turning things and making them unpredictable, their friendshi to legolas and the comprehension they have of the tawarwaith's true nature are amazing, also good to know he was not entirly alone and forsaken during those first years of chastisement.
now follow lindalcoln and don't keep back on the two elves with him (i have my suspicion about their identity....)
