MessageHello Terry!

My time with the Parachute Regiment started with the 12/13th Battalion back in Liverpool. I served with 3 Para from 1963 till 1968.

I've enjoyed browsing the site. The content and banter from a great bunch of guys brought back fond memories. Of course I saw old mates who in my minds eye were still in their twenties. However seeing memoriam notices of comrades who have passed on brought me back to the reality that those of us living are 60/70s Grandfathers. I was sad to see the passing of Hughie (alias the Lout)Henderson. We were Huw Pike's 3.5 Rocket Launcher Team with A Coy in the Radfan (We never Missed!) I was also saddened at the passing of Brian Keeling,Wally Greer, and Barney Barnard to name a few.

Yet it was still terrific to see the names of the drunkards, debauchers and reprobates I served With. We worked hard and played twice as hard. Places like Nairobi, Mombasa and BG come to mind, not to mention the NAAFI Club and the Aldershot Pubs! The men of the Dirty Third were a fine bunch of men.

Regards

Brian Freeman
