In a nutshell I am looking for 700 blokes with good military backgrounds to work as 'extras' in a movie ranging from a few days to months. | Message | Hello all. The Committee meeting this weekend confirmed the arrangements for next years reunion. It will be at the Imperial Hotel, North Promenade in Blackpool over the weekend 21-23 March with the AGM and Gala Dinner on Saturday, as usual. It is a very nice hotel with a pool, sauna, gym etc and PLENTY OF PARKING! Have a look at their website. The cost will be £95.00 per person, sharing a room, for Dinner and B&B for the two nights, incl the Gala Dinner. There will be a limited number of single occupancy rooms available at the same price. NB. this is a 2 night deal but extra nights at £35.00 can be booked direct, if members wish to make it a long weekend. Menus are yet to be arranged but there will be the usual vegetarian option. There will not be any Happy Hours but reduced drink prices have been negoiated for the weekend(e.g £3.00 a pint). We hope to have the booking proforma out in the next 2-3 weeks. I spoke to the General a few days ago and as JJ said he is now well recovered, I'm sure you are all glad to hear. I'm off on holiday tomorrow, so regards to all Terry C Chairman |

| Message | Sorry to hear the sad news of Glen Lawson's passing at such a young age. Can remember him arriving as a new member of 'B' Coy in the late 60's, a fine young soldier. |

| Message | Received on email Hi My Father in law Proudly served with 3 Para in the late 60s early 70s and has recently passed away after struggling for the past 2 plus years with various levels of cancer and a blood clot in his skull.He was a boating man whom was always mainly found in the elements of various boat yards in Southsea/Portsmouth in all weathers so dealing with his cancer treatment was a struggle for him.He will be leaving behind Christine(my Mum) whom was his partner just under half his life.The reason I write these words is to inform any of his fellow comrades of his passing,as like many soldiers he said little of what and where he served! he mentioned NI tours and Cyprus. His Name was Glen Ian Lawson from Plymouth, Passed away 18th July 2013 in the morning in Southsea in his home aged 60yrs, Served late 60s early 70s Fearlously Proud with 3 Para He will be cremated in Portsmouth/Southsea area. I would be overwhelmingly grateful if you could inform any of your members whom remember him of his passing. With deep regrets Ken Compitus |
