| Message | K.I. Sawyer, what a place to work and have fun. Was stationed here from 1973 - 1975, 410th SAC Sheet Metal Shop. One FB111 crashed after take off, one T106 tip tank droped on landing, luckely it went to the right into the field and not into the KC135 and B52 flight line where I was setting, repairing a speed brake pad on a KC135 Tanker door. Great memories, great friends and great area. I truely miss the times. |

| Message | Hello museum "Guestbook" viewers! Greetings from the great Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I need your help! Recently a USAF disabled veteran contacted me from League City, Texas. He was a Security Policeman from 1967 to 1970. I have verified this information with a local veteran's group in the Houston area. Not being a fully medical retired veteran, he has fallen on hard times and is attempting to purchase a vehicle for him and his spouse. | Message | I was transferred to KI with the 56th in 1959 from O'Hare Field, Chicago. There the new F-101 was being received from the factory. They were sent to Kincheloe AFB, MI while the runway at KI was being resurfaced. The pilot's started to transition to the F-101 while there. | Message | I was transferred to KI Sawyer in November 1962 when SAC took over the base, as a flight engineer on the base C-47. I picked up the "new one" 43-16137 and proudly crewed it until being transferred to Italy in 1965. It was a great tour of duty. I have good memories. I visited here in 2007, things have changed. |
