MessageStationed at KI 88-92. I was in Security Police. Eye-witness to the B-52 crash in Dec 88. Thought it was sliding right through the gap into our alert area. Can you imagine if it did? Eight Nuc loaded B-52s.....holy hellfire and brimstone! Spent time in the WSA many a night. Cross-trained into Training manager and worked at Base Training and for the 2001 Comm squadron - That was cool! Lots of great memories. lived in Little Lake in a tiny house right next to the lake for $180 a month. Good times.

MessageHello to everyone. K.I. was one of the best assignments of my career. I was the 87th FIS squadron medic, mostly for the aircrew, from Dec 1973 to August 1978. Lot's of memories, my son's birth, my divorce, my nose rearranged at Brown's Tavern, getting caught on top of the drag chute drying tower throwing snowballs at people a couple blocks away by the commander (he was returning from a cross country and had a bird's eye view of us), some really great people, and so on.

MessageServed at K.I. from about mar-apr 1963 until jun 1966. I was part of the Comm Airborne/Nav group with the 62nd fighter squadron. Lots of memories and good friends were had there. Had a lot of fun. Never seen so much snow as I saw there. Would like to visit the area again soon.

MessageFor those of you who were stationed at KI around 1987 - 1992ish I regret to inform everyone that Dennis Burton lost a battle with cancer late last month. Dennis used to work in the CBPO, our prayers go out to him and his wife, Joyce (who was also stationed at KI and worked at the CBPO).

MessageI was stationed at K.I.Sawyer from '66 to '70 and just made my first trip back.To say the least I was in shock. My old barracks down in "the hole " was boarded up with windows knocked out, chow hall the same.I crewed B52H 60-031 and enjoyed every minute of it.The bright spot was meeting Bob Vick and the guys working on the B52D to keep her in shape. These guys volunteer all their time and need our help to keep things going.I purchased a lithograph from Bob of the last B52H to leave the base and that money I hope will help a little to keep the museum going and supplies for keeping the aircraft in good shape.Anyone that was stationed at K.I.Sawyer,I am sure that Bob has more lithographs and would gladly sell them to K.I.Sawyer alumni or any BUFF fan.Contact the museum and they can hook you up.

MessageI'm working on a reunion for sometime in 2010. From the feedback so far everyone I've contacted has expressed a great amount of enthusiasm. I hope to work with a contact near me to get things rolling. I will keep updating as things progress. So far I'm looking at having it at K.I. mid to late summer 2010. I also hope to set up a web site in the near future. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for all of the interest. It's heart warming to know you are all out there and interested in this project. Let's make it happen.

MessageThe SPS reunion sounds interesting. Have been looking for a good excuse to get back to the KI even though just being there is good enough. Great area. Can you keep updates as to the likelihood on this site Brian? Thanks
