MessageServed at K.I. Sawyer 1966-68. Was the first Team Chief of the SAC Management Engineering Team assigned from the 3902nd Support Sq (SAC Hdqs) to the 410 Combat Support Sq at K.I. Came to K.I. as a 1stLt and was lucky to have several seasoned NCO's who took great care of me; made Capt. prior to leaving K.I. Still remember washing my car in July with snow flurries coming down; lived in the BOQ for the 20 mos. at K.I.; great friends, fond memories and was a real shocker coming from Carswell AFB, Ft Worth TX to the UP!

MessageStationed with the 87 FIS as a load toad from 1976-1979. Crosstrained into historian career field and left for McConnell. Had some swell times at K.I. and made some really good friends. At the time of my departure, I was SO glad to leave but looking back now, I do miss it. One of my biggest bragging points (especially when someone says it's cold) is that I worked outside on a jet when the wind chill hit -75 degrees. (We were in and out of our weapons van, Romeo II, so much that I probably shouldn't count it but I still do!)
