MET MY LOVELY WIFE OF 51 YEARS THERE. STILL VISIT FAMILY AND PLAY GOLF AT RED FOX. STILL AMAZES ME THAT IT LOOKS THE SAME AS WHEN I LEFT IT 52 YEARS AGO |

| Message | Assigned 410 CES/DEF 1977 to 1979 KI Sawyer AFB. Dual rating: Fire Protection specialist and Rescue-men. Worst day April 2, 1977 savalge & recovery operation on B-52H off base crash site. Great place if you loved the great outdoors. |

| Message | K I Sawyer was my first base out of tech school in Feb of 1971. 'First assigned to the 62nd FIS, then the 87th FIS as a 32550 Autopilot Mechanic. We had a large shop. I took Palace Chase to the Air National Guard in May of 1972 and continued until 1990. The 87th had some really great people: MG Breckner (with whom I stayed in touch until just before his untimely accident}, Col. Johnson, Capt. Doss, Capt. Coburn, MSgt. VanWinkle, SSgt Johnson and so many more. There are lots of special memories. I hope to make visit this summer. They used to joke that "KI" stood for "kinda isolated"! |

| Message | Wow, I was stationed there from August 76 to November 77, when I cross trained from MMS (462) to Loadmaster. Went on to be stationed in Little Rock. Lots of TDY's for sure. I enjoyed my time there and remember many folks. Too bad the base is closed. |
