| Message | There's a lot of press about the gap between rich and poor. It generally seems to be presented as a bad thing. Why is that? If the rich people earned (or inherited) their money honestly, where's the harm? I would think that a society without rich people would be in real trouble because it means no one is rising. In this country anyone can become wealthy with hard work and wise choices. |

| Message | Gina, I remember visiting Mexico on a missions trip in the early '90's. We went to a very poor area. 40% unemployment. Average wage was $4 per day. Mostly they lived in mud huts with grass roofs and no doors. Would it be right for them to vote themselves some of your wealth just because there is more of them? At least you have a tank in which to put gasoline. Why don't you take more than 50% of your earnings and send it to them? It is not just them. Unless you are living on the street, if you are an American you are wealthier than most people in the world. Does that make it right for them to help themselves to what you have? |

And when I was using the example Pappy, it was just that, an example of how anything can be contrued as socialism by definition. I wasn't accusing her of being a socialist. I was just trying to point out the similarity. It's no different. It's all about priority and what one thinks is important when campaigning. |

| Message | I am speaking in general and not refering to every single wealthy person....but have you seen Oprah Winfreys home, now look at mine, tell me who uses more resources. I have flown twice in the last eight years....how many times do the wealthy fly? I guess I could go on and on, but you get the point. Again, not everyone fits into this category, but on average they do use more because they have more money to use more. I know that just recently I found my gas tank FULL and haven't seen it that way in awhile. I have to pick and choose where is important to go and what can wait or where can I bike? Wealthy people can fill their tank when they want and go where they want, when they want. No, I'm not jealous, but that's a fact. |
