MessageAccident!

There may be life on Mars and they think it may have snowed. Did God create all the planets and just decided to inhabit one of them and leave the others? What's going to happen to the Biblical theory when life begins there?

I wasn't even born in 1964, but you are very right and that's the SAD SAD thing about this country, nobody votes even though it's their right. People died, literally, to get equal rights to vote and most people don't, how pathetic is that? But what does that say?

Petra, you are awesome. I have to come to your blog to get stimulated because no one ever wants to debate with me on my own. They send me emails in private. How fun is that? smilie smilie smilie

Pappy has been wonderfully debatable smilie And thought provoking.

Petra, I agree they spend WAY to much money on these campaigns.

MessageGins,
Let's look at the evidence. You have never seen an electron but you know it exists because of the way others react to its existence. Never mind the faith. Never mind the Bible. Just evidence.

Either the universe was an accident or it was created on purpose. Does it look more like an accident or something done on purpose?

Message"If you are headed for a cliff in a car, you better know the truth about which peddle stops the car."
This is a tangeable thing for me. If I press the right, the car goes off, the left, I stop. It's that easy.....Religion of any sort, isn't that black and white. It requires you to put your faith in something that isn't tangeable, phsyically. All, I know about Christianity is that someone, anyone handed down a book about a man and a God and they said BELIEVE. I've never seen God, never seen Jesus and Religion expects you to just believe what it says. I can't test it, can't prove it and I'm not saying a God doesn't exist, I'm saying I don't believe in a God because I don't believe it exists. It may exist and I could be wrong. I don't have no calling upon my heart to believe in a Christian God or any God for that matter. Maybe I am just doomed for hell, but I feel nothing when it comes to religion, very empty.

MessageGina, I have just been reviewing the recent posts. I noticed something that had not really registered on the first pass. A science major! How wonderful. People are so much easier to talk to about God if they have been trained to look at the evidence. Why don't you believe in God.

MessageI agree with, Petra. I am praying that whoever wins the presidency the other party will win the congress, or at least one house of it.

MessageOkay Pappy and Gina - I can't keep up with you! Lol!!

7. Gina - I know we have had some debates on creation vs. evolution. Just wanted to clear it up that I DO believe dinosaurs existed. Just not a kazillion years ago. I believe they coexisted with man. I do believe that a belief in God needs to come before a belief in Creation though. So that debate would just take us in circles.

8. I think that's it. smilie And Pappy - thanks for the welcome. lol. I don't mind you guys using my blog at all! I've enjoyed reading you guys' comments. smilie

MessageHello Petra! Welcome to your blog. I hope you don't mind Gina and I
using it.

Gina,
If we have a record turnout the same as 1964, 64% of the people who can
vote will vote. A little more than half of those will elect our
president, probably about 35%. That is not a majority of anything. We
need a real leader, not a vote getter.

Message3. Socialism - I disagree with much of what Obama AND McCain say when it comes to money and social issues, but I disagree with MORE of what Obama says (and yes, abortion and gay marriage have something to do with that - we can have a conversation about those if you like). I'm not sure four years is long enough to turn us into a communist country, but definitely some changes are going to be made. I do hope there is a good balance in the House, Senate, and White House - if that is the case, then I think more people will end up being happier with the next four years.

4. Eloquent speaking - Obama is a much better speaker than McCain, for sure. He's very charming, and obviously droves of people have fallen for him. I think BOTH of them resort to nasty politics though. I think there is much lying on both sides and much telling people what they want to hear on both sides. That's politics though, unfortunately!

5. Money and fashion - Both Palin and Obama's wife wear VERY expensive clothing on the campaign trail. It's ridiculous the wastefulness that is going on. I think all the money it takes to campaign is ridiculous - millions upon millions of dollars, and much of it spent not very wisely (in my opinion). That goes on in both the Republican and Democratic parties.

6. Palin - I don't think she is who she claimed to be at the beginning. I'm not a fan of hers. I think she is wasteful and a bit unethical. I think she'd be a disaster in the White House.

MessageSomething is true. One of the worlds relgions or none of the worlds religions matches that truth. It may not be important to know which, but on the other hand getting things right is usually very important. If you are headed for a cliff in a car, you better know the truth about which peddle stops the car.

Yes, it is possible to believe in evolution and in God. There are many people that do, even many Christians that do. I was one of them for many years until I started looking closely at the evidence.

There are many Christians that are jerks. I've been one of those, too. That has nothing to do with whether God exists or not. Why don't you believe in God?
