MessageNick was Tony’s best man at our wedding. Tony was “Nick” for half of the mass, thanks to our slightly forgetful priest. We couldn’t ask for a more perfect day, and a more perfect person to honor Tony. In his speech in front of our 100 guests, Nick reminisced about the days when Tony lived in San Diego and they went to lunch at Rubio’s at least twice per week. He spoke from his heart, with such sincerity, gratitude, and love. I almost felt bad for being the one to separate him from his brother who had been sad when Tony moved up to Oakland to start his life there. Tony spent countless hours with Nick and his family, and at that moment during his speech, I realized what a deep connection they had to one another. I was so proud to be marrying into such wonderful family filled with so much love.

My wish for Nick is that he find peace, and look for my father in heaven. We will miss you...

MessageI had the pleasure of having Deb and Nick's family over at my house for brunch. Deb and I are family friends and it was the first time we were able to catch up after over 20 years. It was a time for Deb and I to reminisce about our teenage years, our parents to laugh about funny stories and our kids to make new memories. And, when meeting Nick, I thought that Debbie had found someone truly special. Nick was gracious and easy going-just like Deb. And, you could tell that they both had a love not only for their family, but for life.

I watched my husband, Mark, and Nick talk about their love of bicycling. Mark's stories about descending a mountain trail and Nick's passion for road cycling. At one point, both boys informally agreed to go for a ride together. I wish now that they would have been able to make that happen.

Deb-if there was anything in the world I could do or say to make it easier for you, I would. I know that you are a special person. You have always been a powerful force and I know that your strength will be passed on to your beautiful children. You were blessed to have him for the time he was here and will continue to see him everyday as they grow.

Always know that you all are in our hearts.

MessageTo Nick's family: Please accept my condolences. I only knew Nick for a brief time in a business capacity when he was at Graviton and I was at Shell. He was a good guy, who acted with professionalism and integrity in quite difficult circumstances. I was truly shocked to hear this evening the dreadful news that he had passed away. I can barely imagine how difficult this must be for you all but hope that over time this and other messages will be of some help. Alex

MessageDear Deb & Family - I am the Ride Across California Volunteer Coordinator, Nick and Nicholas road the RAC in the 2009 - 2010 season. Nick was one of those fathers and riders that although he was riding with Nicholas was constantly asking what else he could do to help, how he could help and always lending a hand. Throughout the ride, my memory is crystal clear of his never ending smile and his absolute enjoyment of riding and being with his son. From our extended RAC family, Nick will always be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers as will your family. It is our desire that when your daughter is in the 5th grade she will join us to enjoy her fathers passion of cycling. With all of our love - the RAC Family. Gary

MessageUnfortunately I never had the pieasure of meeting Nick. Nick's father is my cousin. One summer they all came to my house in Cherry Hill, NJ for a barbecue, except Nick, he must have been at school. His parents spoke very lovely about him. There is one thing I must say is that Nick looked so much like his grandfather, my uncle Nick. I cannot stop thinking about this TRAGEDY.
Nick, rest in peace.

MessageDeb -

Bridget and I are so saddened to hear of your loss. Nick was a roommate of mine in college, and was such a dear friend to both Bridget and me during our time at USD. As a matter of fact, Nick made his "famous, top-secret" spaghetti for us whenever we could cajole him into in; his recipe is still in my recipe book to this day.

We completely adored your husband; he was a man of integrity, drive, compassion, and clear priorities. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your beautiful children, Deb.
