| Message | I worked with Nick at Graviton. I remember two great things about him: the incredible coolness, even under pressure, and his great smile. He was always very friendly. Later, he was very helpful with suggestions regarding my business. He was a super guy. We all are going to miss him. |

| Message | I went to high school in Pomona many years ago with Nick Sr. and Judi Venuto and eventually ended up a CPA in San Diego. I only met Nick Jr. once when his Dad asked me to meet with him to answer any questions or give him a perspective on the life of a CPA as he was going through his career choices upon graduating from USD. He was an articulate, engaging, personable, confident young man. I remember thinking to myself at the time, that this kid was going to be successful no matter what he decided to do with his life. Based upon his life and the comments of the people who knew him best, he has been extremely successful in all the areas of life, especially those that really count---father, husband and son. Our most heartfelt condolences to Nick Sr. and Judi and the Venuto family. You have all been in our thoughts and prayers. We were out of town at the time of the service but hope to see you at the walk on July 9. |

I hurt for you and your family and I feel helpless. | Message | I did not know Nick or his family but was touched by this tragedy that I wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to his wife, children and family. I can not imagine that grief that the family must be going through, especially the children. It makes me take a step back and cherish life even more because tragedies like this can happen. Nick, through the pictures, looked like a wonderful husband and father. I am very, very sorry for your loss. |

He was a leader and a team player, and everyone that worked with him enjoyed his company. | Message | We said goodbye to Nick this week. When I think of it, I still want to yell out “say it isn’t so”! Quick with a bright smile and a positive thought, Nick was smart and friendly, yet intense and focused. He was a colleague, a friend, a family man. I met Nick in 2002 before Marisa was born when I interviewed and hired him to be the Nanogen Controller. We worked closely together for several years. Somewhere along this path, Nick began to ride his bike to work. Nick kept asking me when I was going to get my bike out and join him on a ride, he was unsuccessful in that quest but successful in most other efforts. Nick was a person to count on, a person of great integrity, highly focused on the issues at hand, smart and success oriented. He rose to the challenge of team building and became a good manager. As business became more difficult, Nick rose to the daily challenge and continued to be a strong, positive force. After selling the company, Nick took on several consulting assignments. We talked on numerous occasions about his job search and opportunities. Recently, we talked as he considered several offers, ending up with Sapphire Technology. It was an outstanding opportunity in a growing and exciting company and also fit with Nick’s vision of balance between work and home. While we were workmates, he always had a smile when he talked about Nicholas, Marisa and Deb. The world is poorer for Nick’s loss. He made all of us better. I will remember Nick. |

| Message | We hadn't seen Nick for a couple of years when he was in for our meeting this past February. I mentioned I had seen his name as age-group winner for the Palomar climb, and he talked about a lot of the family activities you had done over the prior months. Although he's a pretty low-key guy you could really tell how much it meant to him to have been able have that time with his family & make those memories. Our sincerest condolences to all of the family, he was truly a good man. |
