MessageYou are truely and inspiration. Its sad what our government that is supposed to be for the people actually does to the people because they can. If more people stood up for what is right like you did then maybe things could change. Its time for a change. They can't keep doing this and sending innocent people to jail just because they want to. Its not right!! But I'm glad everything worked out for you and your family!

MessageHi Regina,

I just watched the movie and I must say I am very proud of your strength. Your daughters are gorgeous. I am sorry all of that mess happened to you and you are no longer living in that city. I really enjoyed the movie. I know that black people are still being treated this way but your story gives hope. I am just really glad it worked out for the better for you and your family. You didn't give up. God Bless You and your family.

Blessings,
Aimee

MessageMs. Kelly, Thank you for your courage and perseverance. I just watched American Violet tonight, then I followed up by going to your website. It was really hard to watch the movie and see how bad racism can be, but I'm glad I learned about your story, and I feel encouraged by your life. You are a real role model for me in lots of things, but especially the fight to end racism.

MessageCongratulations! "American Violet" is a gem and your outstanding courage against such terrible racism is astounding!

I visited the website of Melody, Texas tonight and was blown away at the still very apparent racist bigotry. At some point, the county website describes its history amongst "savage Indians" wow, it still exists. Then I read on to see it is celebrating one of the most profound racists marketing campaigns in the history of the U.S. - claiming to be the home of the last "human Aunt Jemima" - is this true?

I wish you the very best and congratulate you on the ability to remain in that community. I think I would have left by now. You have incredible strength and may God bless you and your four beautiful girls.

Would love to hear your feedback!
