MessageI love the book. I saw you on Nationwide a few weeks ago. I am an art student in L.S.A.D, in my final year. I am including your 'The Forgotten Cottage' in Co. Limerick in my thesis. I am also using your photographs as research for my studio practice. Thank you.

MessageHi Tarquin. I just came across Katie Dalys on your site. I remember being there at a "night club" of sorts about 16 years ago. There used to be a minibus picking up people from the surrounding villages and bringing them to it. I was staying in the hotel in Killaloe and went to the nightclub with a group of friends. It was some experience. Come down from the mountain Katie Daly is what we were singing on the bus after the night was over. It stirs up lots of memories for me. Its sad to think it closed down so long ago. I am enjoying your book and I visited your wonderful exhibition yesterday. Congratulations on the book and the website.

MessageTarquin!

Book browsing, I saw your book and came to the Library instead to check-out the web-site. What a site!!! Astonishing! All the work you put into it!

Since last we met, I have often thought of a centenary celebration of the people in the Big Houses in 1911 Census, with pictures - and there you were already doing it! Well done. A fantastic achievment.

But what about Leitrim - were there no photographable remains here?

Best wishes,

Tom

T.B> Thanks Tom. I do have a section on Leitrim in my book.

MessageThis website is captivating! I want to visit Ireland just to see these places...it's incredible that they are left abandoned and that no one has bought them to restore - sad, but also really cool at the same time. The architecture is amazing, all of those curved walls, you wouldn't see anything like that in the US. Thank you, you did an amazing job on this project!

MessageThis is the most wonderful and sad view into our past. I thank you for this as History is being left behind in a lot of cases. I find this type of history really interesting. It brings you back to how it must have been living in these wonderful buildings and the care that would have been put into them when they were being built. Are you going to tour with the New Book.

Thanks
Jennifer, Drogheda smilie

MessageThankyou so much for putting your work on the web for us to see. I have just come back from Scotland with lots of pics of ruined castles. It was my first experience and I loved it. I can't wait for your book to arrive. All the best.

MessageHello Tarquin,

Congratulations on a wonderful job well done you must have clocked up some miles but it's definitely been worth it. I'm sure you must have had a scary moment or two walking around these relics but thankfully there's no shake of the hand evident in the wonderful pictures you've taken. Best of luck with your next book I'm looking forward to it already.

Regards and safe travelling.

Shaun
