Just opened xmas present ...your book..fantastic read. I returned to Ireland 7 years ago and fell in love with an old stone cottage and after much love and attention it is now our family home.
It is not on the scale of properties in your book but I like to think it is another house saved.
It greatly saddens me to see these wonderful houses left in such a state and not being or even having the chance to be brought back to life.
I spent 20 years in the UK and spent a lot of time visiting National Trust properties and cannot understand why "we" the Irish have such a dismissive attitude to these wonderfull houses.History I presume plays a part,1916 etc.
Many thanks , wonerful book and awaiting the next !
Kind regards

MessageThis is the most amazing site. Thank you so much for all your work. I am so fasinated with old houses. My father brought me to the ruins of Woodlawn house a few years ago. I always wanted to see inside and learn about the history. My mothers cousins wife actually stayed in Woodlawn house as a guest when she was younger (shes in her 70's now). If i ever won the lotto this would be the place i would buy and restore.

Many many thanks smilie

MessageHello Tarquin,
So delighted to have your book at last.Thankyou for the Aussie link. Will have some time over the Festive Season to devour it.
The book is just as I imagined it would be, and congratulations on it being so popular in Ireland.
I wish my ancestors were here to view it with me! It will have pride of place in our home!
Would love to see some more on your website of Northern Ireland too, but realise you can't be everywhere at once.
Congratulations again, and keep the good work coming. Seasons Greetings, Kerrie and Ken

MessageYour time and dedication is amazing! I could spend hours looking over all the photos.

I was disappointed that the "virtual tour" didn't work on Dublin's Ghost House. Another ghostly glitch, I presume...

MessageThank you for including Castle Menlo in your website. I'm a descendant of the Blake family who lived there until the fire, so it always makes me happy to see and read about peoples' experiences with the ruins of the castle.
