I have only just come across your website and I think it's wonderful! I have done a small amount of exploring ruins or old houses near my own hometown in Kildare but I never knew Ireland had such a wealth of amazing abandoned houses with such interesting stories behind them. I really admire how you work. I'm keen to go exploring now myself!

Why was Woodville Estate changed to a different name? What is it named now?

Dear Tarquin Blake,
Just compiling dome information for my daughters for a Dear Dad story book. Found your images on the Workhouse in Cavan. There was a Poor House in Drogheda derelict in the early 1970's. The outer shell remained and faced onto the Dublin Road. Played there for several summers with my friends. Your images brought back many memories.
Kind regards,
Jim Sheeran.

Williamstown House
Heating boiler maker Cochran cost £36 new and complete with 6 feet of chimney. Steam boiler to heat the house and would have had to be manned 24/7.
Just got the 2nd book to keep the 1st company and it is equally superb. I think you are doing a fantastic job Tarquin cataloging for historical record the buildings that shaped our history only to become victims of that troubled history themselves. Both the books and the website are addictive reading and viewing to such an extent that you can't close either of them when you've open them!. Best wishes for the future with them.
