MessageWell done for keeping the history of the Irish work houses upper most in our minds. A time when people were treated so badly. Kathleen

MessageWoodstock House, Inistiogue, South County Kilkenny, was occupied from Aug 26,1920 to Jan 16, 1922, not by *The Black and Tans* [ who were not a force or units but only individuals, almost all Ex-Servicemen, about 20% being Irish, and recruited as Temporary Constables to reinforce existing RIC Bcks, and so commanded by regular RIC Sgts ] but by *A* Company of the Auxiliary Division, who were Ex-Officers and 10% were Irish, with their own Officers, in 15 separate mobile Companies. They had 6 Sections, led by a Head Constable, per Coy, each Section with its own truck - a 10-man Crossley Tender

MessageWas just looking at the pictures of Stephenstown house in Co Louth. I remember this house in all its former glory, my father went to live there when the war started, with his aunt Eadie(Mrs Pike Fortescue)...he stayed for many years...the house is now a ruin, but at least it's still standing.

MessageMy late mother (from Raharney Westmeath) always said she was related to Magans and Darccy,s of Hyde Park. Her grandmother was Anne D,Arcy. Story was a D,arcy married Catholic and was disinherited. I have never been able to find the truth of this story although her sisters and cousins always said it was so.

MessageFantastic site,I am an art student and have a growing interest in buildings and sites in disrepair. I first came across your site searching for information online about St.Kevins in Cork(a place I regularly visit to sketch) and was hugely impressed by your shots. Your work has influenced me to explore more places like this in Cork and beyond. Keep it up

MessageA fantastic site. Well done for bringing so many sites back to the public attention. Hopefully many of these will be brought back to their former glory in the future,
