MessageMy best years of my life..I went into Boot Camp summer of 1985 right after High School. Attended RMA School and Morse Code...then off to me ship...USS Enterprise where I remained until I got out in 89. Now wishing I stayed. I met a lot of people from around the world and have a lot of good friends. Thank you NAVY...

MessageI was a CYN at NAVCOMMCEN Subic 1967-1969 and aboard USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31) 1969-1970. Someone asked about routing indicators, and nearly 40 years later I still remember quite a few of them. Subic was RUMMWUA, Cubi was RUMMWIA, NAVCOMMSTA Phil was RUMFSAA -- RUEOHKA was the supply facility in Mechanicsburg, PA, RUWJMUA was San Diego (AMO San Diego and NSD San Diego?). I also logged in a fair amount of time as a service clerk, lots of ZES-2s and ZOVs.

Does anybody know what year the CYN rating was created, and what year the Navy eliminated it?

Happy Veterans Day!
