| Message | I'm wondering if The Wrestler is about the original wrestler, Jacob? I was thinking that because of the Iranian flag of Randy's opponent, and also Aronofsky's religious background. Also, it appears there is some serious Israeli overtones in PI. Check "Jacob" in Wikipedia. Can't post links here I guess. Thanks for great film Darren. You're my favorite director. |

| Message | Saw THE WRESTLER tonight at my local SHOWPLACE 16 (Rockford, IL) and wanted to mention that during the hardcore wrestling scene a woman passed out and an ambulance had to be sent to attend to her. The show was stopped and then restarted and free passes were handed out for the "inconvenience." This incident shows the the realism of what you made. And Mickey Rourke is utterly amazing in this; Marissa's character is played with depth - kudos to you. |
