| Message | Hi Darren, I have never taken the time to write to a director, let alone research a movie so much. I decided to see The Wrestler because it looked like a movie that no other movie has ever come close to. I have never been so blown away in my life. After I left the movie, I couldn't get it out of my head for 3 days. I saw your interview and you're so right. Mickey is such a huge guy but his eyes give it all away. Excellent choice for Mickey Rourke. Though the ending didn't end conventionally, it's what the movie needed. To have a director take a chance like that is just phenomenal. After this movie, I look forward to anything else you may direct a long with other movies that you have already created. So again, as a college student that may not know a lot about films, I do know that The Wrestler is by far the most thought provoking and heart felt movie that I have ever seen in my life. |

| Message | Yesterday, while relaxing, I decided to watch the movie again (for about the 20th time :)). I shown the movie to my parents. I was afraid that they wouldn’t find anything good in a movie which is harder to understand than to feel. But they did enjoy the film. When Rachel Weisz speaks… When Hugh Jackman touches the tree.. These moments are unforgettable for me. OK, I’m writing to much. :) I just want to thank you because you gave a majestic movie experience which I will never be able to forget. It doesn’t matter that The Fountain was razzed. It doesn’t mean anything. As you are my favourite director for a while, I decided that after the exam I would watch The Wrestler, too. Well, even if I didn’t like it as much as The Fountain (of course these two movies can’t be compared), I enjoyed it. And you shown us again that you can always message us something new. I have a movie blog where I usually write about my favourite movies. I've written the link in the website gap. The latest writing is about The Wrestler. And I know that you can’t read it as it is written in Hungarian… But I think that the orange 85% means something. And I wrote about The Fountain, too (besides several other ones). It means 200% for me. :) And it always will. But now it’s high time I finished writing. Please, let me inform you whether I pass my exam or not. I will know the results on 31/03/09. | Message | Hi, Darren! Greetings from Hungary! Let me share with you my day. Today I took part in a language exam in English. I'd been preparing for that a lot. According to the Law of Attraction, I was wondering a lot about what would happen if I had to talk about my favourite movie or book. In case of my best reading experience, I’d have talked about The Hours because both the book and the movie impressed me so much. And if I had chosen my favourite movie, I’d have talked about The Fountain. Actually, during the exam, I had to choose between a person I admire and a new thing I would like to learn about. Finally, I started to talk about a person I admire. I told the examiners that The Fountain had impressed me so much that I would like to be a movie director. Moreover, of course I mentioned you. I told that I had never seen such honest confessions and thoughts about life before I watched The Fountain. I was also speaking about that’s why I would like to deal with movies: you proved that making films is a way of self-expression and The Fountain moved me. Of course, it’s not a news. But such deep expressions - I can’t imagine how you could open your heart and soul. For the first time, I watched The Fountain almost a year ago. It chanted me at once and I realized that even if I didn’t understand it at all, I felt the movie. Fortunately, since then I managed to understand it. It always gives me something new… |
