MessageYour work has inspired me to have hope that the art of film is not dead. I am confident that history will look back on your work as revolutionary and at you as one of the great masters of film that world has ever seen. To say the least your films inspire me every time I see them.

MessageThe Fountain... it is PERFECT. No matter what was envisioned, it... does... not... matter. It made me sob like a little girl. It made me want to kill myself and at the same time live. This is the best movie ever made.

MessageDarren,
I love and adore your work. I don't believe you'll read this, but, just know, that I firmly believe you are our generation's/country's Tarkovsky.

Be Well

MessageI love all your movies; The Fountain was awe inspiring. I was wondering, I know you said that it, The Fountain, was about Death and Rebirth, do you think it could also be about The Eternal Feminine; I mean to say Thomas trying to reach Isabel? Just out of curiousity...either way very beautiful film, thankyou.

MessageHi Mr. Aronofsky,

I'm a big fan of your films and I think you're very talented. Hollywood needs more cerebral films like yours. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

PS I hope the family is doing well

MessageThank you for your wonderful films Darren, The Fountain in particular. It is one of the very few films that has ever had a very strong emotional impact on me.

I also find your films to be a very positive infuence on my own drive to write. I'm a deviously lazy man but I went on a 30 day writing binge after seeing Pi for the first time.

Thanks for all you've done.

MessageIts great to see you doing a blog. I can't wait for your next work. While you worked on the fountain for over 6 years I waited with high anticipation for it since I first heard about it when it was brought up at Comicon in '05. so a solid year and a half for the film. I try and watch the movie as much as possible because it is truly a fantastic film. Hope things are going well for you.

I just moved to NYC so maybe I'll see you around.

MessageHi Darren,

I feel the urge to thank you with all my heart for The Fountain. It is the most profound and emotionally, artistically satisfying film I have ever had the privilege of seeing. It is a miracle...from its inception in your consciousness, to its arduous production and finally to my living room and into my consciousness. You chose the biggest theme and put it out gloriously! I've been into cinema for 40 years...favourites are Persona,Mirror,Solaris, directors such as Bergman, Tarkovsky and Antonioni. But The Fountain takes things further without any obliqueness, obfuscation or obscurity. It speaks straight to the heart and is wonderfully inspiring and hopeful. Thanks again and thanks also to your collaborators...Mansell's gorgeous music and the luminous performances from Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman. I'm looking forward to your next one, although The Fountain would be hard to surpass.
