MessageI'm a film producer in Dallas Texas. The Fountain was one of the best films I've seen this year.
I haven't been moved by a film like that in years.
And many thanks to you and Niko for coming thru with the commentary. Very entertaining and insightful.
Thanks Darren!

MessageAn open letter to Mr Aronofsky

I'd like to express my heartfelt joy upon watching 'The Fountain'. I'm not the type to send fan mail, but on this instance I've felt compelled.

There is no way to describe the feeling of amazement that i experienced when watching this film. As a self taught student of theology, I was blown away by the way your film deals with the issues of life and death. The messages of acceptance and rebirth touched me very deeply. During the credits, I openly wept with calm joy.

I have come to the conclusion that the fountain will never appeal to the masses. It's too complex. I wish it we're different, because I feel a film like, properly understood could change a few people's lives. And no matter what anyone else says, no matter what sales figures might point to, you've given at least one viewer the most moving experience of his life.

MessageThe fountain was probaly the weirdest f-cking movie I have ever watched. When I was done watching the movie I sayed "WHAT THE F-CK" out loud. Were you smoking cr-ck darren, cause it seems like it when you wrote this sh-tty screenplay. I could make a better story while taking a shit.

MessageHi

I am a little uncertain whether I am expected to get a reply, either way, your movies are amazing.
I recently saw The Fountain and it was just as, if not even more beautiful than PI and Requiem.
Now, we do not know each other at all, but how do you get the inspiration to write a script like that? And do you get a lot of help doing it? Do you do researches or do you find inspiration in your personal life? 'Cause really your movies are perhaps some of the most beautiful movies ever made, in particularly because of their depiction of reality which makes them even more controversial.
Anyway have you thought of making movies which do not take part in the Western civilization?
I really hope I receive a reply.

Happy (holi)days
Stefan

MessageIt's nearly midnight on a Sunday night in the middle of the Pacific Ocean along the north shore of Maui. Close to the seaside , hearing the crickets only ... watching The Fountain was AS good as not being able to put a Great book down, no matter what the hour.
Some of the finest imagery EVER have mine eyes witnessed in a major motion pix. I bow before you. You have done it.
I"ve waited long to enjoy a film that honors the zen nature of existance and I imagine you have so much more spirit inside to share with your fella humans. I now know your name and will follow your work closely.
I just simply had to reach out and say MAHALO and ALOHA.
in gratitude
all the best
