| Message | I just re-watched "The Fountain" last night. Such a unique film! I base my love of films on my ability to watch them over and over again, and still find something new with each viewing. "The Fountain", by these standards, may just be my favorite film of all time. Its storyline is so complex: it's visuals are so breathtaking: the acting is Oscar-caliber: the original score is marvelously crafted. Such an incredible film!
Of course, this is not to to say Darren's other films aren't exemplary as well. "Pi" if phenomenal. "Requiem for a Dream" is one of those movies that really knows how to hit all the right emotional notes. In spite of my earlier statement about my love of films, this movie I also consider a masterpiece: just one that I cannot watch too often! It pulls on the heart strings with such fervor that I find depression my friend after each viewing!!
I look forward to Darren's next film, whatever and whenever it may manifest itself. Please don't let ignorant critics undermine your love of film making nor let their at times negative reviews influence your film making decisions! Keep up the exemplary work! |
