MessageDarren may I just say that you are truely the best director in the world. I watched all three of your movies in quick succession last year and have to say that they are some of the best works of cinema that I have ever had the pleasure of watching (with the Fountain being my favourite of all three).
I wish you luck with whatever project you do next, but after a string of three amazing movies I will gladly watch any movie that you work on next and will probably do so for any and every movie that you ever work on. You have touched me that much.

MessageDarren, you are Brilliant! Pi was incredible, Requim was good, but the Fountain was the Best movie I have ever seen! It is a Gem that bucks Hollywood trash films based on useless comedy, special effects and guns blazing. I watched the Fountian (under the right conditions) when it premiered on Cinimax after waiting a long time for it and it went beyond my expectations. I watched it 3 times in 8 hours that night and again two days later. The kind of film that needs to be played again when it ends and it comes full cirlce. I really like the fact of as little computer effects as possible and is an instant classic in my book. I have recommended it to as many as I could, some being extremist Christians who will run for the hills after what they've seen.
I do make computer videos and in my more serious stuff, there always seems to be some weird thing that happens where I am like "I don't remember putting that in" but it just worked so well. Some where just accidents but came out perfect. My Best short clips are:
"All sHe Wants" my first digital and one of best.
"Carnival" I tweaked with the sound on this.
"Total Control" shows the Bush Agenda over man and I double the music to speed beat up, the news clips are just a perfect fit that climaxs with Sax solo.
"Another Brick in Columbine" taking three different things and combining them with a simular theme.
"Car Crash Chase Police Abuse" has a funny look at idiots, but the "Foot Steps" hit a note when I watched the Fountian.

MessageThe fountain is truly a masterpiece. I find a way to bring it into conversations not having to do the least bit with film. It meant so much to me personally. Never have I been so moved by a film. This film has changed my life forever, bringing me to tears, never will I look at life the same. Aronofsky you are truly a genius and I commend you for this and your past projects. Keep up the fantastic work, can't wait for your next film.

Oh well have to wait for more.

MessageI've already written here what a masterpiece The Fountain is. The pinnacle of cinema. A truly cinematic film rather than filmed theatre.
It has just crossed my mind that you would do a fantastic job on John Fowles's novel 'Maggot'. Ever read it? Ever thought of adapting it? Maybe I should write the screenplay and send it to you. It's an amazing book and perfect material for a director like you.

MessageThis is one of those movies where new layers of meaning and significance make themselves known with each viewing. It is precious and I treasure it. It would not have been the same film for me had it been made with twice the budget.

MessageI have seen The Fountain for seven times now. The first time I saw it was on the big screen and it was during a period of angst in my life. It brought me to tears for a number of reasons, mainly because it echoed, symbolically, an advice not to waste my diminutive time in this world. The ostensible coincidence that I would bump into such a rare film during my need for “such a film”; as well as the protagonist sharing my name altogether made the film more personal than it would’ve been otherwise. By the time I was watching it for the second time, I was already tearing it apart with a critical eye, hoping to discover what the film truly meant. Bearing some of the reviews and comments I have read about it, I watched it a few more times in search of more symbols that would seem to parallel the theories of reality that I also share. The Fountain is a love letter to the great works of so many researchers, teachers and explorers of metaphysics. It is a poem about a view of reality not yet of its time and I commend you for sprouting it into existence.
