MessageI wanted to thank you for making The Fountain and for being brave enough to stick to your own vision during its production. A very powerful movie, I haven't experienced anything like it since Mike Nichols' Wit.

My own partner died two years ago and your movie brought up images and feelings from the depths of my memory that I thought had been buried away indefinitely.

I wish you the best of luck on your future endeavours.

MessageThe Fountain struck me as an extremely important step in creating the future of the science fiction genre. The mainstream Hollywood crowd has its Matrix trilogy, but I believe that history will be much kinder to the genius and beauty of The Fountain.

MessageThanks for doing you DA. You are an artistic inspiration.
Thanks also for getting the commentary to The Fountain out- I was disappointed when I bought the dvd- but then again the masses don't take to anything not spoon fed so I could see the studio screwing it up for the fans. A friend of mine from panama(aspiring filmmaker) says they will talk about The fountain and use it as an example in flim study classes a decade from now. I tend to agree
I hope you know there are alot of people out there who truly love the kind of work you do. Regardless of the masses.

MessageI recently viewed "PI" as a class assignment and it was great, outstanding ,and life changing due to the inspiration boost i was given. And as a poet who is triggered by inspiration, I must thank you for feeding me so that maybe my craft will feed and inspire others . For we as artist possess the power to change the world. Its our duty!!!!

MessageNo movie has EVER affected me like this movie has. I feel changed for life. Let me just start by saying I’m no actor, just a normal guy (stay at home dad) who is one of the most cynical people you'd ever meet. I had a fairly bad attitude and could care less about anyone other than my family. No joke. I’ve seen more movies than most and predict the ending before it began.
That being said; after seeing this movie it brought me to tears. I wasn't really sad. I wasn't feeling bad. I wasn't crying from joy. I wasn't crying at all.... I was just, feeling. The Fountain is an EXPERIENCE.
For the first time ever I cried in front of my wife of 5 years.
For me this movie is poetry for the senses. This is a TRUE feeling for one’s mortality conveyed by the heart. Death can be a beautiful thing.
Clint Mansell’s marriage of the music to the film takes you beyond the pictures and cinematography to a state of mind. The music in the background for almost the entire movie reached out and touched my heart down to my very soul. I have truly been changed by this movie.
Thank you.

MessageHi Darren. First let me tell you that I do not want to su_ck you up for a future job (like most of the other posters). I am not in acting school nor I am a future director who thinks that you might need my email in case you want to engage in a new professional relationship with my outstanding lack of experience([email protected]).
I just wanted to tell you I really liked The Fountain. I have watched it like 10 times and I find myself constantly listening to the soundtrack.
The story of how it was made is also impressive. You are a real example. Thanks.
