| Message | HI, Ive seen requiem and the fountain, and liked by far the first better than the second. the second wasn't too bad, but I thought it was too needlessly baroque and new age. the first was more honest, less artifical, and ellen burstyn's acting was memorable. Your work remains very interesting and valuable, I just think its hard to keep essential or to have a baroque style which stays "real" (see Fellini). Keep it up though, I think your best movie has yet to come. dont let the big budgets kill your originality. |

| Message | Hey Darren, Just wanted to sign your guestbook since all of your films have moved me in a way that has changed the way I look at the precious gift of life. However, the fountain I believe is your greatest master piece yet, words escape me when I attempt to talk about your film. It is the one movie which has opened my eyes so much. I want to thank you for showing people that movies can go so deep and touch your soul and dont have to be regular hollywood style films which merely entertain us. | Message | Genesis, the Upanishads, ancient Mayan wisdom all share the truth of love and light being the essence of life. Death is just a doorway to new life. Circles and cycles go around and around and when we Be Still and Know, we find that we are at the center of the circle. It is inside us! You coalesced all of my deepest awes in to one film! I love how you connected the Tree's hairs with his beloved's neck hairs. We long for the other, we long for release. This longing leads us on our journey. Over and over, life after life and love after love we search for a the Tree. Kundalini teaches us that the Tree is within. Yeah! Thanks for your soulful work. Tom |
