| Message | Mira, Hi honeybunch! I hope you're having a wonderful experience in Israel. Uncle David and I follow your itinerary to try to get some idea of what you're doing every day. We keep it at our dining room table and look at it when we eat dinner to see "what's Mira doing now?"! Your schedule is so packed with adventure, learning, and fun, and it sounds like you are visiting many beautiful places as well. And so much hiking and physical activity--you must be in great shape! (Hopefully, running track at school helped get you into good condition beforehand.) We missed you so much at Grandmom's birthday celebration. It wasn't the same without you. But we did have a beautiful time together, presenting her with a special "birthday book" which you will see when you return, going out to a very fancy restaurant for dinner in Center City, and going back to your house for your mom's delicious homemade birthday cake (carrot cake) and frozen yogurt. Grandmom was very happy! Also it was such a delight to see your mom in "Iolanthe". She was superb! Now she and your dad are in England--tonight might be the night her group is competing, but I'm not sure of the schedule. They deserve to win! The show was very funny and well done. A very talented group! Both Uncle David and I have sent you previous e-mails which we hope you received. We wish you a very safe and happy remainder of your time in Israel and safe travels home. | Message | Hi,sweetheart, I know that it has been a long time but email is so slow in South Africa and my mothers computer came with the Ark!! How are you doing. Dad saud that he heard from you and I hope that you has a good free weekend. I hope that you were with some friends. Things here are good. This evening I am with Steve and will probably spend a few days here later in the month. You have only 9 days left, it went pretty fast didn't it. I think that Dad and the animals are very lonely and they are looking forward to you and Daniel coming home. I am missing home too but the work here has been very rewarding. Granny and Granpa are well and send all their love. The weather here is great, a little cold in the evenings but nice and warm during the day. I hope that you are keeping well and I miss you. | Message | Hi Andrea and Natalie So nice speaking to you both today. Nat, have a great 16th bday tomorrow. Enjoy your day and free weekend. From what you guys told me it has been amazing so far. Well 1 week to go on Sunday before we see you. Can't wait. Andrea buy another smallish bag that you can lock or buy a lock if you need too and use 2 cases (bags) to check in at the airport instead of one heavy one. You pay big bucks if you are overweight on your cases, and you are allowed 2 pieces of checked luggage. Remember to label the the new bag with your Toronto home address. | Message | Hello again Lilly dear,  I'm so busy patting myself on the back, I will break my arm if I'm not careful. I just returned from my Weight Watcher meeting..I have lost 12 lbs this summer. TADAH  You are very much missed by us. However, we are so happy for you. Your trip is just great. I hope you are making new friends with whom you will be able to stay in touch. I have started studying Spanish again and, as usual, the last language I studied (German) keeps popping up in my brain. This time I hope to use Spanish in Argentina and Brazil where we are going on a cruise with cousins Alan and Helene in February. Perhaps I can even use it on our family cruise to the Southern Caribbean in March.  I hear you are doing very well with your language skills with friends from Brazil. Great! | Message | hey baby!! i haven't written in a while so share this with everyone ok? yay, you guys went to Abu Gosh!! what an awesome place with awesome hummous. i love it. so its shabbat now- the last shabbat of the session/year. we're going home on rachel's birthday and then phia miriam and i are all chilling out the next day. i can't wait till you all get back!! OH!! madatz is having a prom where the boys are assigned to girls and they have to ask them to prom in a way they seem fit. remind me to tell you who asked me and how when you get home because it was the cutest thing immaginable.  tiyul was SO uncomfortable. blechh. also, rachel- i'm coming home with you a lot more this year so i can say hi to yelana among other things. I LOVE HER. AND MARA. AND GAGEY-POO!! soo good. noah says hi to all of you and so does phia. phia is also dissapointed that she didn't get to talk to you so make sure she gets extra attention when you all get home ok? QUICK STORY. today the madatzim were working on one of our many madatz projects and there were two beams leaning against a pole. bryce thought he'd be funny and starts getting "friendly" with the pole, but he actually knocked the beams down and they HIT ME ON THE HEAD. so i've been kind of loop-de-loop today. but im ok. ok gurls i've got to run. ill write more soon-I love you all!! love, judy |

| Message | When I lived D.C. I ate quite a lot of Lebanese cuisine but I never tried knafe. I have downloaded the recipe & am anxious to try it. Rachel has been on a Nestle choc. cake made from scratch craze ( so good ) & it's time for variety! I was reading the online edition of the Jerusalem Post & happened on the top pictures of the week AND QUESS WHAT ? The last picture (#12) is of AKON @ KOTEL & I think YOU are in the picture too! Rachel's not sure but I think it's you. Any, she printed it off for you to see. She has been doing DRILLS - aka sweating her brains out exercising. | Message | Hi E I'm glad it worked out to see Barry and Grandma is pleased about it. She said that she was at Tavor last weekend for visitor's day. All the Sztainer cousins were there..I guess they just can't stay away!! Did you hear about the bridge collapse on the highway in Minneapolis? It is right outside Dianne's office and she said that it is really surreal. Several cars went into the Mississipi, a few people were killed and some others are missing. They didn't even close her building the day after the accident but it is going to be closed today. Here in SF things are rather quiet. The fog persists in our neighborhood and even I have gone in the hot tub. Noey is hanging out a lot and she is having a party tonight, perhaps a last hurrah with her high school buddies. She seems pretty excited about going to Israel and it's hard to believe that she will be leaving so soon after you get home. I may have to make another trip to Milwaukee soon to see Savta in those two weeks, but we'll see. If you get a chance to email, that would be nice. marcy@dirotproperties.com. (btw it is amir's bday on aug 4). The cats are good and I have all their company at night. Bella still rules the roost and the others know it! Bella and Phoebe hang out with Jimi a lot and lick the water. So far so good though. I swear that fish interacts with me, though it could just be my imagination!
