Messagehey Manu,
We're home and I can write to you whenever I like. Its great to be home. This vacation was .... interesting. Never a dull moment. Although I think thats why we go to the beach, to just chill. Oh well. The best part about being home, besides a sand free bed, is I get to think about picking you up from the air port. I haven't talked to Rachel yet but if she still wants to come , it will be me Sopha and Rachel. BUT I get the first hug!!!!!! So I called Anati and Zev said you were over at Mayas. I hope you call before joining the group.
We played Quiddler in the car on the way home. Sophia is GOOD so watch out.
Dad just got back from the store getting breakfast food so I'll sign off.
How did you like Harry Potter? Sad that its the last book.
Love you so much
Mom

MessageDear Dov - It's still hot here, and in St. Louis it will be even hotter. But you'll understand what being hot means. I read on the blog that you went to some ancient caves. What did that feel like? Imagine the stories those caves could tell. Judy was here for dinner and then we went to shul to say kaddish for our dads. I have a bit more packing to do tonight.
Have a wonderful last week in Israel. I hope you still have your retainer. Last time you'll read the nag list: Read, drink water, wear your hat, sunscreen, and brush those expensive teeth!
Love, kisses and a big hug. Mom smilie

MessageHey Lennykins!

I'm typing in the dark & because my hands were on the wrong keys to start with, this was going to be addressed to Kebby Wolsin. Interestingly enough, he also lives in Canada, lol. It would have proved interesting for the madrichim to try & deliver this note, eh?

Dog news: Not only does Sophie sneeze when she gets in the water, but once she gets going, she snorts & wheezes like a pig with asthma as she swims back to shore with the ball. She also swallows a LOT of water! When we got home, I offered her a fresh drink and she kind of looked at me like I was certifiable. (I hope she doesn't end up puking!)

Can you believe you've only got one week left in Israel? Next week you get to go to Eilat. A terrific place to scuba dive!

Well, Lenny, I think you'll be impressed by our choice of vacation spot for February 2009 - Antartica! We've just booked it. Crazy, eh? It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us. Friends of ours are going, and we're tagging along, LOL. Bet you haven't heard of anyone else just "tagging" along to Antartica! That's us. The most conformist looking non-conformists that ever were. Wonder how we can write this trip off to business? Moshe will be hard pressed to claim Antartica as a good place for "new" merchandise: Freeze proof themostats or thermometers? Ideal kitchen implements for serving ice cream in sub-zero temperatures? We'll have to get creative.

Enjoy yourself!
Love and Knishes,
Isabelle, Moshe & a wet Sophie

MessageHi Olivia,
It's getting cooler now. Today we ran the furnace a bit during the day as it was only in the 50's. We're near the Kenai Fjords in the city of Seward. Tomorrow we're going to hike to see Exit Glacier. It actually gets dark for a few hours at night and I saw the moon one night!! I miss the summer stars. Neeko is loving the cooler temps and is being rather frisky on our walks. Early next week we head north to Anchoarge then on to Denali and Mount McKinley.
We're eating lots of different types of salmon as people keep giving us some from their fishing trips.
Hope you're having as much fun as we are.
Love,
Aunt Lynne

MessageHi Jazlana!

Boy, was Daddy glad to speak to you before! Good job! You finally got him to pick up the phone!

Some neighborhood gossip-- last Sunday, our favorite neighbor (need I say more?) passed out by our mailbox. I had no clue until I looked out the window and there was a police car and ambulance. I asked the officer if I could assist. He said, "Yes. Call your Councilman and complain about this guy. He needs to be removed from this neighborhood!" Anyway-- tonight upon returning from work, I saw another police car and ambulance in front of our neighbors with the rapper sons (I can't think of their names). I first thought something happened to a family member of theirs. One of the sons (he's cute with chin length corn rows) came over to me and I asked him, "Who is it?" He rolled his eyes and yes, you got it-- our favorite neighbor once again. I had a nice conversation with the cute son and I told him, "This is twice in one week." He kept on shaking his head.

Oh, well!

Talk to you soon!

Love,

Mommy

MessageHey, loves.
Missing you tons here in Ann Arbor, you have NO idea how boring a summer is without my sisterjews smilie

I am OFFICIALLY exhausted -- working from 7:45 am till 5:45 pm this week and the next babysitting. The kids are fine, but there is a certain point at which I am just like... TAKE THE CHILDREN AWAY I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE.

But besides that it has been loverly, I have been at the pool and have gotten tan despite my sunscreen efforts. Surely not as tan as those under the middle-eastern sun, but what can you do.

I hope you guys are on a kibbutz soon so you can be on facebook again, that was fun. I want to hear about all of your exploits and adventures so much.

I made a summer mix on iTunes and I'm listening to it and pretending that my life isn't empty and desolate and meaningless without you and the JuPhia. GRRR, come back plzkthnx.

Haha much love and all that,
Aly

MessageHi Lauren,
Following is the part of Mr. Russell's email today that may interest you:
First Rehearsal
I would like to have the first orchestra rehearsal on Friday, August 24
from 2:10-4:00 in our normal room SH-6. Please plan to be there as
this will be an important start-off rehearsal for the year. Also
remember that the bus does not run Friday afternoon after 2:00 so please plan
alternate transportation. We will work on the complete Ives Symphony
that you performed for the audition.

Australia
We are moving ahead with it. I have sent in the down payments. I will
be working on a payment plan in the next month or so, determining
chaperones and costs and planning specific fundraising activities. I have
some ideas but if any of you have thoughts, I am open to it. I would
like to have a parent meeting about the trip immediately following the
Arts Back-to-School night in September but will let you know once I confirm it.
First Concert
Our first scheduled concert is Saturday, November 10 at 7:30 in
Symphony Hall. You will notice that this will be one week later than what
will be printed in the Student Planner so I wanted to give you this info
now. Around the start of school, I will have more dates to give you.
Like the NY trip, we will probably do special fundraising concerts that
may be added to the schedule.

Thanks. I am looking forward to another great year.
Hope u get(got) lots of rest this wkend. Hope your braces stayput!
