| Message | In M Div, 60/late 62, main control and then to generator gang Cook MM1 was boss. Does anyone remember Wendell Whaley, Jumped off at sea to swim home to girlfriend, put in brig. Lucky we found him. Where is everyone??? Living on Cape Cod |

| Message | My dad, Gerald "Corky" L. Coulson served aboard CVA-15 1945-1947 as an aviation ordnanceman and plane captain. Sad to say he was killed in a farming accident in Spring 2001. He always had a fond memory of his time aboard the ship and his shipmates. I followed him into the Navy in 1977. Couldn't decide if I wanted to make it a career, so I only stayed 30 yrs. JC |

| Message | My Dad was on the Randolph during WWII...Radio,petty officer,communications...His name was Domenic Tessaglia..aka " Midnight" or "captain Midnight " from Providence ,RI. He never talked about the war when i was younger but in the last 15 years he has told some great and touching stories...mainly because my daughter egged him on to do so....the kamikazie, Okinawa and other pacfic stories, and the people he spent time there with are precious....He passed away in august and was buried with his USS Randolph CV15 hat..which he had 2 of and wore every day...that hat was such a conversation piece,at malls,football or NY Yankee games or at Saratoga race track,where he always seemed to meet someone who wanted to share stories..God bless all of you who were on the randolph and fought in WWII...If anyone remembers my Dad,I would like to hear from you ...thanks........ |

| Message | My late father was on the staff of Admiral Gerry Bogan on Randolph in 1945. Just found a letter he wrote that year describing an incident while "Randy" was anchored at Leyte in June. "An Army P-38 was flat-hatting over the anchorage . . . and he banged into us near the bow. We lost 14 planes and 25 men." I can't find any mention of this accident in online sources. Can anyone help me out?? |

| Message | I was on the Randolph for a Midshipman cruise in the summer of 1967. We were in the North Atlantic on a NATO exercise when the Arab-Israeli 6-day war broke out, and we were told to be ready to head straight for the Med. We shifted our area for the exercise slightly to the east so that we'd be closer to the Med if called -- but that war was over so fast that we were relieved from standby and went back to Norfolk where we hosted the CINCLANTFLT Change of Command Ceremony. That's when Admiral Moorer became CINCLANTFLT, and not long after, CNO. |

| Message | On board from 1960-1962 transfered to CVA-64. remember involvement with Glenn, Grissom and the collision at sea. and even Bay of Pigs. Was in "R" Div worked in aft. CO2 shop above fantail Good duty on good ship but glad to leave east coast. harrisda@aol.com |
