| Message | I served aboard the USS Hancock CVA 19 and Capt. Odend'hal was our skipper. It is my understanding that he was aboard the Randolph when it was hit by a kamikazi. If anyone knows of him I would appreciate hearing about him. |

| Message | I was aboard the Randolph in 61 and 62. Rank DK (disbursing clerk) 3rd class. I was aboard when we collided with the tanker. It took off the port side catwalk. |

| Message | Nice site. I was in X-Division, working in Personnel Office and E & T Office. Remember alot of Mid-Rats while out to sea and working late at night. Med. cruise in 65 and North Atlantic cruise in 66. Served from 65 to 67. Go to the reunions when possible. Meet some very interesting shipmates from the different years, and some great stories! My nickname, Ox, came from PN2 Fred Essel who taught me a great deal about growing up. Last I heard, Essel was living in Conn. I remember others like Patterson, Johnson, Pousson, Frank, Chief Sadler, Lt. Scott, Hawkins, Buchanan, Pickenpaugh, Nelson, Oshay & Houck. Some great times with great people on a great ship. The best time was being the last ship to have liberty in Belfast, Ireland. Don't forget the ship's reunions each year. It would be great if everyone would come to a reunion. We could always suggest a date and place, something to think about. |

| Message | I served on the Randoo Candoo from 1959 till 1962 was the only ship I served on. Was a red Striper (Machinist Mate ) Remember going out every two weeks and in the summer we would sail the Caribbean and in the winter off of the New England states.Was a good time . |

| Message | I was with VF73 on the Randolph late 1957 early 58 The skipper of the ship was Capt. (Bullett) Lou Kern. some shipmates were Stumpy Reid,Wayne Covely,Bob Slagle,E.E. Myers. Christmas in the Med for an 18 year old was interesting.!!!! |

| Message | I went aboard the Randolph as a FN in Valencia, Spain in August 1962 and left her at Norfolk in April 1964. I was initially in B Division and in October 1962 I transferred to OI Division where I remained for the rest of my tour. |
