| Message | I went aboard the Randolph as a FN in Valencia, Spain in August 1962 and left her at Norfolk in April 1964. I was initially in B Division and in October 1962 I transferred to OI Division where I remained for the rest of my tour. |

| Message | I would like to know if anyone remembers my father, William Russell McDonald? He was a corpman I believe, on the Randolph. I was named after the ship in 1953. He has been to the mediterranian, So I'm assuming he was onboard around 1950-54, but I'm not sure. If Anyone has any info, please contact me. Thanks to all that served on board. What an honor to be associated with the space program!!!! |

| Message | Served onboard 1960-1964 The question of the Randolph is placed out of commission 8/7/1968. Striken from Navy's list of ships 6/1/1973. Towed up the Kill van Kull to South Kerney, NJ scrap yard and turned ovet to the cutting torches. With a service of 29 years, 7 months, 3 weeks, and 1 day in war, peace and reserve. There is one of her anchors in a memorial in Tom's River NJ. It was a great duty for me as I learned many things that I have taken through the rest of my life. Dave |

| Message | My grandfather, Ernest E. Wood, served aboard USS Randolph CV-15 during WWII (Oct. 1944 - Nov. 1945); in fact, he was a plank owner. He was a corporal in the 4th Division, USMC and was assigned to one of the aft gunnery crews. The night of the kamikaze attack, a buddy persuaded him to go see the movie, that buddy saved his life. He didn't talk about the war much, but I did hear stories about those powered eggs and cream chipped beef on toast. Later in his life, he would talk a little about Ulithi, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and Tokyo. One great thrill for me was that he and I got to tour the Randolph before she was decommissioned. He loved attending the Randolph reunions. He was a great man. He loved the Marines, his comrades aboard the Randolph, his country, and his family. I miss him very much. Thank you for establishing this web site. |

| Message | USS Randolph CVA-15 from July 53 until Sept 54. V2 Division Starboard side hook runner on flight deck. Division officer Lt. Kennison Ensign Hopper Chief Andres Crewmates I remember: Ben Vartanian, Zeferino Lopez, George Dujanovic, Pop Franzen. I know the Randy was scrapped in May 1975 but can anyone tell me where? | Message | i came on board the randolph after losing the uss saratoga in 1962 i unfortunatly forget the exact month and day. i was a part of the deck force (botwainsmate). i do not remember the colision how ever so i must have come on board after it. i was discharged from randolph in april of 1964 from norfolk va. if there is any one out there who might remember me please drop me an e mail. also canany one tell me if the randolph is still docked any where or has she been completly dismantled? i really would like to know. thanks seaman 3rd class offenhamer. |
