MessageListen here.
I think we need to lay off Graeme for a while. Ben King is near on a journeyman at the age of 18. Lets be real, he won't cut it at Sutton United's 1st team, and he won't be happy sitting in the Reserves.
I am struggling to come to terms with Billy Marshall being let go though. Good player who has warmed the bench in the last few weeks, and even when he went on sat in the hole between the 2 strikers.
If training is non-existant, you must have incorrect sources becuase the boys train at a local school each week.
I urge the fans to get behind the boys, and like me be passionate.. Even when we score and are still losing, I applaud the boys and keep banter running between ourselves and opposition fans to the end... it helps keep everyone motivated... as they say... it's never over until the "fat lady sings".

MessageMerstham Mike
If you look at the history of Ben King you will notice in his young life he has had many many clubs and i understand that he has gone to Sutton United to further his career.
Billy is a forward who overall didnt score many goals, great lovely bloke but with our current form we need someone to put the ball in the net.Reidy got relaesed also for the same reason.
Mick Sullivan did agreat job over i think 7 years he left and took the reserves and most of the 1st team with him.
Graeme was appointed and is in his 2nd season in the highest league that Merstham has ever been in, with the problems that he endured at the beginning of last season to get a team that was very successful (Hastings Utd 6-1)to the point of losing 2 players one to Lincoln City and the other one who for the last 2 weeks has been in the team of the week for League 2.
Have you been to the Managers meeting i guess not as if you had you would get agreater understanding on how Graeme works and thinks.
We went slightly down hill last season when John Hamsher left and to bring a quality player back (Hes played for Fulham)who can put his foot on the ball and think what to do with it rather than lump it up at the first opportunity will be a great asset to the team. I think before you have a rant about our manager you have a word with him, you will find him very approachable or if you dont want to do it one on one then i suggest you come to the next meet the manager meeting. You never know you might

MessageAs a supporter of Merstham FC for nearly 40 years I have seem many changes at the club. But what has happen in recent weeks beggars belief. How can Graeme banyard let go of a great player like Billy Marshall (who incidently turned out for promotion favourites Met Police last night – He cant be that bad Graeme) and the very talented Ben King and then bring back a past-his-prime John Hampshire, who maybe has a good tactical mind but will struggle to play a full game. From what I’ve heard training is almost nonexistent by two lads who came from the lower levels of the combined counties league and are clearly not Ryman level. Its a pity Strats isn’t still with us. I personally think its time for the Chairman to start looking at replacing some people and start building for the next season in the Ryman. I don't think even Graeme could get us relegated. Sorry if I sound so negative but after the glory years we had under Mick Sullivan it seems so sad. One good thing Redhill don't look like they will be joining us in ryman south next season.

MessageYou may not have noticed, but the reserves have only had 1 game since November.

Most of the squad need urgent match practice before they could considered for the 1st team.

MessageI'm as unhappy as anyone with our current form but it should be pointed that we've just lost to two sides in the top five, one of whom are likely to fight it out with the Met as champions.

As for the comments about John Hamsher, I'm stunned. When he came on, he did a good job of dropping deep and playing sensible, searching passes to out own players - something that hasn't been happening too often recently!

However just to end on a downer, I'm mystified by the decision to release three players. One of them in particular has stunned me but I'll wait to hear a fuller explanation which maybe will enlighten.

MessageHow can you say bring through youngsters in to the reserves and then first team?
It is a typical parental point of view that boys are ready to play first team football as a youth.
They have to be exceptional and physically ready. If you were at the Bognor Regis game you saw the size of their players and even Ben King didn't look up to the task of looking dangerous against them.

MessageUnlucky result the other week, I think we should look to the future of Merstham a bit more, it paid off with Ben King, give the lads a little more experience in the reserves then you have fresh fast young talent for the 1st team to bring on.

MessageAnother disappointing result at the Moatside on Saturday, we just can’t put the ball in the back of the net can we? And what’s happened to our defence, why didn’t Vernon play? We really can’t rely on Chats to keep us in the game week after week.

Why bring John Hamsher back to MFC, what will he bring to the game, he looked very slow when he came on?

Extra training needed for all Graeme!!!

We don’t want to slip any further down the league table, let’s get back to winning ways and send the fans home with smiles on their faces, unlike Saturday when everyone again looked so fed up!!!
