MessageWould just like to send my best wishes to Louis Clark who I understand has broken his cheekbone in 6 places.
Whilst I am sure it is no comfort to the lad, but I can assure you that the clash was purely accidental, and our player was really upset afterwards when he heard that he may have fractured his cheekbone.
I am sure i write on behalf of everyone at Godalming Town F.C to wish him a speedy recovery.

MessageA few points to raise, firstly is it not strange, spoke to Harry after the game, and he felt that he had a poor game last night, touch was not good and just did not feel he did enough,I sought of agreed with him,and then looked at the mom award and Harry got it,oh well, cant wait till he has a weldy,Louis Clark has fractured his cheek bone badly and my miss upto 2 months, shame known him about 10 years, boy has he had some injuries, get better soon Louis, and did a quick run through on games played of importance this season,on 23 games I looked at,I felt in 9 of them Whyteleafe,Chatham,Alton,Met Police,Horsham at home,Eastbourne Town at home,Corinthian away,Sittingbourne at home and Godalming last night we created so so many chances and could not put any of the games to bed,of those 9 we lost 5 and drew 4,of the games we draw Horsham,Sittingbourne and eastbourne we conceded very late goals either at the end or at half time to deny us victory and in the defeats,Chatham, lost 0-2 should have been well in front before they scored,Alton Town similar story,Met Police lost 3-0 in the end,but they scored there first right on half time and we created so many before that we certainly should have been ahead,Corinthian, deserved to lose but led 1-0 and had further chances before being undone, and last night well I am sure you dont need reminding,93rd minute equaliser after creating a hatful. The play at times is supurb, but unless we become more clinical,I feel we may well not make the play off,s

MessageUnfortunately I have to agree with Leigh with a game I had doubts about before kick-off. Godalming have been a bogey team for us for a long time and even despite their early season management/team disruptions, still looked more composed on the ball than us. still we squandered our dominance in attack and I believe it was a counter-attack that from one particular failure that led to their equaliser and subsequent confidence driven win.
anyway it puts it all into perspective when an important club and family member is in hospital. Best wishes to Richard, wishing you a speedy recovery!

MessagePainful and predictable. I'm sure I wasn't the only one watching who felt an impending sense of doom as our impressive football failed to lead to more and more goals. As with lots of other games this season the opposition then capitalised with a sloppy goal in injury time which raised the spirits of Godalming. Only seemed one outcome after that despite us clearly being the better side.

Cliche time - now we can concetrate on the league! smilie

MessageJust managed to track down the other results as the videoprinter packed up,but apart from the ones already listed here are the rest,Corinthian Casuals 3 v 2 Whyteleafe,Dulwich Hamlet 0 v 1 Met Police,Faverham Town 1 v 1 Whitstable Town, and Horsham YMCA 1 v 1 Worthing. So from a Merstham point of view the 1-1 draw against a very good Sittingbourne side was in my opinion a fair result,we drew 1-1 down there also and there is not alot between the two sides and both I think have a chance of making the play off,s,but with Worthing only drawing at bottom club YMCA,and Faversham only drawing with Whitstable and Walton Casuals losing 2-0 to bognor,a good day for us,stay in 8th still only 3 points off a play off place and if we can get a result tomorrow in the Surrey Cup the season keeps ticking over nicely, but do think its very important with our next 3 games in the league, away at Chatham Saturday and then home to Faversham on the Tuesday and home to Whyteleafe on the Friday night we cannot afford any slip ups, just one other point,Chuck over at Walton and Hersham has got them on a roll.and could also be dangerous, but all in all positive both yesterday and today. smilie
