Message	ah, ebbingnight, Thranduil in Feud has never relinquished the high ground - he STILL doggedly holds that all he has done was necessary, even inevitable, though his conscience has awakened somewhat. he's been hit with something that could finish him. he is too vulnerable to give in to those twinges of conscience. he must justify what has happened and locate a suitable scapegoat for his wrath, and that of his people. Elrond fits the bill, since he is truly guilty of horrendous crimes, is a foreigner, and has lost the friendship of the wizards, too. i would say that right now, in Greenwood, besides the twins, only Fearfaron and Celeborn would take Elrond's part - if they knew what was coming that is. And his brothers want revenge. They will kill two birds with one stone - punishing Elrond through Thranduil and while Thranduil is busy - ah well, don't want to give away too much. That's another chapter. thank you for those encouraging words! you always back me up and i thank you dearly.

Message	Wow, what a challenging xmas fic! Although it will certainly do Elrond good to reflect further on his hateful actions in Feud, is Thranduil really in a position to take the moral high ground here, given our story so far? Hmmm, can't wait to see how you handle it. (And this is why I love your writing, just because you tackle these complexities!)

Message	hi stef! yeah, everyone has been waiting and waiting and waiting and it seems like i forgot all about our wild elf and his struggle to protect Tawar and his siblings and all his friends, now that he has them. the xmas feud fic will be elrond and thraduil having it out. many folks have commented that elrond seems to be getting off pretty light, and the person who requested feud for xmas wants him punished. so, i think thranduil is the most likely candidate to do it

Message	ebbingnight: thank you i am so glad you liked this story and you are right, i was trying to make it work out and give these two a decent chance for things to be good for them. yes, sometimes i put so much into the writing it drains me and then i get stuck on the hit count. i try to keep my perspective, but the depression is always worse when the story has taxed me. though it doesn't seem like it in the final version, this H/L story was hard! I wrote 3 different versions of it, all very different, and this one seemed to work the best. yes, i am lucky and grateful for my friends here and will try to keep that for most in mind. oh, and one of the xmas fics is a feud update thanks again for your support and great compliments! Lapizz: thank you! i am so pleased you enjoyed the H/L story. I will get back to aearlinn as soon as i can. thank you for sending me feedback

Message	Well, I will happily take this new fic to my heart, regardless of whom it was originally intended for! I really liked the fact that the happy ending here came relatively quickly (in the holiday spirit!), and that I can have confidence in that Haldir has relatively little "baggage" compared to Glorfindel or Elrond, say, in the darker stories, so I can easily believe in a wonderful "ever after" for Legolas and Haldir. But I am so sorry to hear that you're "down", especially as I see tons of truly dreadful stories in the bigger archives getting lots of hits and reviews by people who should know better. On the other hand, many superb writers outside fanfic too have tiny, devoted followings... like us!

Message	thank you stef i know i can always depend on you guys here. i think i made a mistake in agreeing to do a story for someone i don't really know. more than likely, that person has lost interest in lotr moved on to another fandom. i am cheering myself up by working on a Balrog out-take i have been meaning to finish forever. i may not get it posted tomorrow, but it will be a Thanksgiving gift to everyone who comes here to read. should have it done by sunday, i hope. thank you again somuch for all the kind wordsand support

Message	please do not feel depressed, i just read faer na faer and i am enthusiast! i quite like this kind of Xmas gifts: one for each one of us and we can share and enjoy each other's fic: it is going to be like waking up on xmas morning n-times this year. thank you so much for the joy you give us so freely. i wish i was able to write a fic to gift one to you too!
