My father served aboard the Spangler in 1946 and it was with surprise and joy that I was able to pick him out of the 1946 crew photo published on your site. I was hoping to surprise him with a print of that photograph. Would it be possible to obtain a jpg. file of the picture that I could use to make a print? | Message | My grandfather served on the uss spangler in 1943. His name is SIMPSON, J.A. S2c. My grandfather never really talked about his time in other than his training at the great lakes, the trip to the panama canal, and shrapnel in his back. Other than that I don't know a whole lot. He passed away in November 2007 in IL. Just trying to find out if any one remembers him. |

We had some good times together. I and my family visited your Dad the summer of 1966 during one of our travels. It was good to see him and talk about old times.
