MessageThanks to everyone for the comments!

Karen - I appreciate your coming for a visit, and for commenting! I really enjoy your blog when I get a chance to get over there. And Jackie is awesome - so glad she is part of our family now!! smilie I can totally appreciate your point of view - and I don't disagree. Like I said, I may still vote for Palin (well, McCain) because I really do like her and her politics. Feel free to come back anytime. smilie

Kendra - I'm glad you approve of me. I can go on with my life now. lol! Ha. You know I am being sarcastic. I do appreciate your comments. I highly respect your opinion - so nice to know you like me. smilie

MessageWell, this was certainly entertaining smilie Thanks for your post Petra, and sharing where you are in your walk with God. You do share your thoughts with grace and love, not just act like you know everything, "smacking people upside the head" as if they were complete morons just because they may disagree with you. That speaks of your maturity and character. You've come a long way, baby smilie Of course, you are still FUN, which is important as well smilie
Oh, I use blurb to turn my blog into a book, comments and all. I LOVED it and did one for mom and dad for their birhtday's, I think. A nice hardbook book, and you completely design it yourself. I will do that every 6 months. That is the only reason I keep my blog, for that keepsake, as it were.

MessageI tried that with my blog about a year ago, but the formatting was horrid, it wouldn't save the comments, and really didn't give many "options"... I suppose the software has likely improved since then though, not a bad idea though...

MessageHi Petra -- JJ's been urging me to read your blog, so I finally jumped in.
Re Sarah Palin: I agree with much of what you say. Indeed, the ideal is that a woman should stay home and take care of her kids. But what's happened in the US, starting since in 1970's, is that the liberal Democrats and their hangers-on have so drastically increased the tax burden that today, one-income wage earning families are rare. To make ends meet, to pay their taxes, most women have to work.
So along comes Sarah Palin -- the first candidate in a long, long, long time -- who says she'll change that. She's committeed to restoring government back to the people -- where it almost assuredly will cost far less. Which means far more mothers will be able to stay at home. Again, I emphasize, NO ONE ELSE on the political horizon -- or indeed anywhere close -- is saying the things Palin is saying, or is committed to the things she (and you and I, I think!) believe in.
She wants this chance to change America back to what it was, when it was family-friendly, when government knew it shouldn't come first in every family budget.
Sarah Palin has told us she can handle both her family and the job. Hey -- I trust her to make the right decisions with the whole US government -- I can trust her to make the right decision about her family, too.
Please, let's not waste this historic opportunity to make things better. To allow more women to stay home with their children.
Thanks for letting me chime in.

MessageGod is the perfect Father and yet his children misbehave. Petra, I believe you take too much on yourself and put too much on Sarah Palin. See Ezekiel 18:1-20

Speaking to everyone who has been posting on this issue, as far as how our parents raised us see Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16.

MessageThat was...um...very interesting, especially topic about Sarah Palin. I do like her from what I heard. And I'm excited, because I am finally old enough to vote for president election. All I know, I DO NOT WANT Barack Obama to be president. Obama scares me. smilie Plus, I would rather have man as a president, not a woman.

I am glad to hear that you've stopped bleeding. We've been praying for you.

I never actually heard of anyone publishing their entire blog into a book before. I however have put my blog entries in my diaries, or letters. But mostly, I have entries from my blog saved into my deaf diary. I plan to publish my deaf diary somewhere in future. Then, maybe people in our family will understand my deafness. smilie

MessageHmmm... it seems we might not disagree on this topic as much as we both might have thought. lol smilie

I think we both tend to word things to seem like we are at one extreme, when really there are addendums that should have been added.

MessageThat's my point, you can raise a child in the way he/she should go, but you CANNOT guarantee that they will follow that path, no matter what...

MessageLOL! Everything I put on my blog I stand by, me dealing with my issues saved my life... I TOTALLY agree that the parents actions and the parents raising of the children impact how the children will make decisions, live their lives, etc... My only point is, even if you do it PERFECTLY, the children, when they become teens will and do make their own decisions, and they may or may not do what they have been taught... How a teenager acts has a LOT to do with the parents, but not all, which is what it seems you are trying to imply. Teens also have peers they learn from, teachers, and others they may interact with, so while you may raise your children in a perfect manner, that does NOT mean the teen will always make the right decision... That is all I am saying...
