MessageTrue. It was a really good performance and everybody in the side played their part in the win whether it be runs, wickets, catches or diving stops! A fine team performance and this is the start of the comeback from us. 20 points next week against Abbots and we will be very close behind 3rd place.

Anyway, good luck in the next two weeks and I will see you all when I return for the match versus Axminster. I will be hoping to look on the site and see a win versus Abbots next week.

MessageTeam of the Day!

How could South Devon be nominated top team by the Sunday Independent ahead of Bradninch this week, beating lowly Seaton?

Firstly, they have not "ended a run of three straight defeats" as reported - well if they had then let’s have the 10 points for the win when we met them three games ago!

Secondly, but not proudly, yesterday's win at Bovey Tracey ends a run of four Bradninch defeats only separated by that losing draw at South Devon.

Thirdly, it completes a very satisfying double over third placed Bovey.

Fourthly, what a fantastic result for Ross Acton, an 18 year old Captain taking over from Chris and leading from the front with 77 no.

Fifthly, what a brilliant debut for 16 year old James Parkin, coming in at 5 down, scoring 60 and putting on over a 100 with his Captain.

Sixthly, what a scintillating spell by Sean, clean bowling the last four Bovey batsmen, with the final two departing in the last over of the match.

Seventhly, and very proudly, we have turned the corner with a team boasting no less than 7 players under 19.

Very well done boys, a pivotal result.

Messagewish every1 wud stop bickering and let us play cricket. those that get picked do their best, not their worst. ok, we haven't found good form yet this season but if we had players that the captain felt could do a better job then they would be getting their chance.

i'd be willing to bet we still finish in the top half of the league by the end.

can't wait to see Rossco captain!!

MessageOur league position can be explained by the fact that our top run scorer is only the 25th top run scorer in the league!

That's the problem - not enough runs on a consistent basis!

MessageLooking at the current League Tables, there are some interesting statistics with regard to points gained to date.

Our 35 Bowling points are the highest in the league and our 68 aggregate batting plus bowling points are the third highest, with only Chudleigh (73) and North Devon (69) above us.

The huge difference and reason for our lowly position is on Match Points - with our 27 well below Chudleigh's 58 and North Devon's 82, reflecting just 2 Bradninch wins against Chudleigh's 5 and North Devon's 7.

Question: if our batting & bowling stats are worthy of third place, how come we are second from bottom?
