MessageThe youngsters are the players that will keep BCC in the A division. I agree aswell, its the youngsters that are training hard and putting in those extra practices (maybe the elders have work commitments, I don't know). But at the end of the day, its a team game and its the whole team that need to up their game. The old boys have been doing their bit aswell - Paul Nott has taken over 10 wickets, so has Joel Murphy and Joel is also the top run scorer. Gary Newall has scored a few runs.
Every player needs to take some responsibility on match days and not have the attitude of "If I don't get runs, someone else will."
I have no doubt BCC will stay up. But blaming people for losses must end and the side must win as a team and lose as a team. Work hard for each other!

Messageanyone who slates the younger generation of this club is well wide of the the mark. whoever wrote that message needs to turn up to nets and see who the majority group is there, practising hard and working hard to try and improve things. i have to say that the attitude of some of the elder players of coming up and just "turning your arm over" isnt good enough and the recent results clearly show that. maybe they think that thier place is asured and the work doesnt need to be done.your never to old to learn, and by some performances this season some people still need to.

MessageWhat has happened? From promotion potential to relegation dogfight! However, this is only a good thing for the club for the youngsters to gain some more experience and they will learn more than if they were sitting in mid-table - something to play for. Big game next week for you guys vs Bovey Tracey who are doing really quite well and surprisingly. But you have Chappell back to strengthen the batting and give you a spinning option (could prove essential in staying up as the attack is a bit one paced and there is no real variety). Also I hear another Devon youth talent has been signed to bolster the batting?!?! Looking forward to seeing how you guys fair next week as you stuffed Bovey last time around. Will the youth stand up or are they really not yet experienced enough to come back fighting?

MessageI am seriously upset at the way that the DCL behaves towards its member clubs. For the record, DCL observers, I am nothing to do with BCC but I am a supporter of both the Club and cricket overall. Sadly, I watch the various committees of the DCL wielding power without intelligence. The way they are handling the Exeter CC - Mark Sanders issue is disgraceful (read the DCC website!) but the way that DCL dealt with the Searle dinner issue and now Sean's so-called beamers is outrageous and should be reported to the ECBin due course (and I know will be!). This is a group of dusty, fusty old geazers who should be put out to grass. smilie

Messagedan hardy proving the doubters wrong..great knock..shame he didnt get the hundred but lets hope this is the start of a good second half of the season for the lad. i think there are a few other batsmen in the side that should be putting the hard work in to get their game on track. the potential is there but its up the individuals to reach it.
