Acceptable Use Policy

The short version has been on this site for years: only nice and friendly guestbooks. This page is the longer version: what a guestbook may be used for, what we remove and why, how to report something, and what we promise in return. UltraGuest hosts messages that visitors write; guestbook owners look after their own guestbooks; we step in under the rules below.

What a guestbook is for

A guestbook lets visitors leave a short public message for the owner of a website, a club, a class, a family page or any other lawful site. The owner decides how it looks, whether new messages need approval first, and can edit, hide or delete any entry at any time. Owners are responsible for what their guestbook shows; visitors are responsible for what they write.

What is removed

Automatic rules check every post before it is stored, an AI panel reads every post in the context of its guestbook before it appears, and stored posts are re-checked several times a day. A person reads every abuse report. Entries, and guestbooks that exist only for them, are removed when they contain or advertise:

  • Sexual content involving minors, or links to it. Removed, the guestbook banned, and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as United States law requires. No exceptions and no warnings.
  • Illegal trade: drugs and darknet markets, counterfeit or prescription-only medicines, weapons, stolen data, "hacked" accounts, forged documents, malware.
  • Fraud: advance-fee and loan scams, "programmed ATM cards", fake testimonials, phishing.
  • Prostitution, escort advertising and other sexual services for sale.
  • Hate: content that attacks people for their ethnicity, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, disability or age, including neo-Nazi and similar propaganda.
  • Spam: link farms, SEO text, the same message sprayed across many guestbooks, floods.
  • Malware and phishing links, and links that only exist to send visitors somewhere harmful.

Every automatic removal is logged with the rule that fired, never the text. A guestbook is banned by the automatic scan only when nothing genuine is left once the offending posts are gone and its owner has been away for three years; a guestbook that collected spam keeps its real messages. The AI review can also ban a guestbook, but only when two independent reviewers reading it in full agree that it exists for prohibited content, and you can always ask us to look again. Repeated abuse leads to a ban under the Terms of Service; a banned guestbook's address answers "gone" so that the removed material cannot reappear.

Judgement calls

  • Adult or crude guestbooks that are legal but not "nice and friendly" are not deleted; they are hidden from search engines.
  • Harassment, threats or the publication of someone's private details: removed on report; the posting address is banned.
  • Copyright complaints: removed on a valid notice (see below); the poster can dispute it.
  • Strong language, jokes, arguments between friends, grief, illness, quotations: the owner's call. The word filter, approval mode, hide and delete exist for exactly this. A perfectly clean guestbook that rejects real messages is not a good guestbook, so the rules are reviewed against real examples and mistakes are corrected.

What visitors can post

Plain text, smilies and simple formatting. No HTML, no images, no files, and no web addresses inside the message itself, because almost all guestbook spam exists to spread links. An optional e-mail address is seen only by the owner. A guestbook may offer an optional Website field (coming in autumn 2026): one https address, shown through the poster's name, checked against our lists and, in guestbooks where messages appear at once, held until the owner approves it unless the owner chooses otherwise. Every post passes a Cloudflare Turnstile check; one address may post at most 20 times an hour to a guestbook, and a guestbook accepts at most 40 posts a day.

How to report something, and how we handle legal requests

Every guestbook page carries a Report abuse link that reaches a person through our support form; owners can also delete or hide any entry themselves at once. We act on reports of the material listed above without discussion. Copyright: send a notice to support@ultraguest.com with the work, the location of the entry, your contact details and a statement of good faith; we remove on a valid notice and tell the poster. Law enforcement requests are answered on valid legal process; child-safety reports go to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as the law requires. Privacy requests (a copy of your data, correction, deletion) are described in the Privacy Policy.

Removing your own message, or a guestbook whose owner is gone

If you wrote a message and want it gone, ask the guestbook owner first; every guestbook has a link to its owner's site. If the owner does not answer within 14 days, or cannot be reached, send us a privacy request with the name or e-mail address you used and we remove the entry after a simple check. Requests about a guestbook whose owner has died, or a memorial guestbook, from family or the site's new keeper are handled the same way. Every removal is logged.

Our side of the bargain

No advertising in guestbooks, no tracking, no sale of data. Owners can download everything in one click and delete their account with one form. The service runs on a server in New York, USA, backed up every night. A guestbook that holds messages is never deleted for being quiet; the details are in the Terms of Service. Nothing on this page changes without a dated note here.
