MessageWe are a small brewery based on a farm in East Yorkshire, England in the village of South Frodingham, which I believe is possibly the original home of the Frothingham family name. I know this because we released a new ale in January called Frothingham Best named after the forefathers of our village/hamlet. Details of the beer and why we used the name can be seen on our website www.greatnewsomebrewery.co.uk. It is only available in casks, for supply to local pubs etc but we hope to bottle it in the near future.
Great Newsome is the name of our farm in South Frodingham and our neighbours live at Frodingham Hall once the home of the frothingham family.

Cheers

MessageBarb,
Re: Olga Mifflin Frothingham. According to her Aunt Ellen's journal, Olga did marry Robert Eckhert. Olga's parents were Langdon & Olga Frothingham. Olga's sister was Ellen Frothingham. I don't know where they lived but they visited often at their Aunt & Uncle's summer estate in Plymouth, MA. (Dr. Harold C. Ernst and Ellen Frothingham Ernst). If this is the Olga that you are looking for, please contact me for more info. Kim Goggin

MessageCan you help me? I am looking for the first and maiden name of a female Frothingham artist. In 1980 I bought three portraits of women done by her. They are oil on canvas boards and unsigned. They look (wild guess) maybe in a 1950's style, possibly early 1960's. The man at Norton flea market, where I bought them, told me quite a bit: her husband was a doctor and she had a studio in Wellesley MA where she painted local college students. She had 8 children, 2 became doctors and 1 married a doctor and 1 became a school teacher. Had a summer estate in Nonquit in So. Dartmouth MA and loved antiques. From a whaling family, her great-great-great grandfather was a mayor of New Bedford. The flea market man gave me his card and it says "Mary's Antique and Fix-It Shop," 26 Chase Road in North Dartmouth. I have had these paintings beautifully framed and just love them and would love to know the artist's full name. Would be great to know who the subjects are but I suppose there's no hope of that unless I could contact the artist. Thanks for your time and congrats on your great web site.

MessageHi,

I am researching the families of Harold Clarence Ernst and Ellen Lunt Frothingham. They once owned the property where I now work. We are planning a dedication of the garden in memory of them. I hope to forward my information to you when its complete but wonder if you or any guests at your site, maybe Holly Hendricks, could provide me with info on Ellen Lunt Frothingham, born in 1859. I am wondering where she went to college and also am hoping to read wedding annuncement, if there was one, and her obituary. Her brothers were Paul Revere Frothingham, Louis and Langdon. Could you please forward this on to Holly Hendricks who is in your guest book and let her know that I have information to share with her as well. Thank you. MessageMy grandmother, Margaret Francis Reichner, was the daughter of Louisa Brown Frothingham (b. 1864), in turn the daughter of William Walter Frothingham (b. at Johnstown, NY, one of 9 children; died Washington Heights 1885), a descendant of William and Anna. Family lore says William and Anna first arrived in America in the Summer of 1630, landing at Beverly, Mass, and travelling from there to Salem and, finding the conditions wretched there, then went to Charleston. Also, there is a suggestion that the family came from Hungary with Margaret, King Malcom Canmore's Queen.

MessageHello,

I am trying to track down my father's mother's family. I have been told that her name was Florence Frothingham. She married my grandfather Gardner Seabury Gould in 1918, my father, Gardner Seabury Gould Jr was born in Dec of that year. They lived in Lunenburg Mass. Florence is said to have died in 1920. I do not know if any connection was kept with her family after she died. I would love to learn more about my true grandmother.

Thank you,

Sarah Gould
