MessageDear Mr. Frothingham,
I think that the history of the Frothingham-Gregory Ranch in Ellsworth County,Kansas is fascinating.Your father and uncle certainly did well in life and their time on the ranch must not have hurt them any.
Ben Scharplaz was my father-in-law and would have heard many times first hand accounts of the ranch history from William Gregory, who worked for the Frothinghams. The ranch was home to Ben for 11 years. It was a haven to him during those years, his first truly stable home ,(no pun intended) and was very special to him for the remainder of his life. He passed on his love for the ranch and for the land to his family. We are grateful for the beautiful rock house that was on the side of the hill and the ranch started by the Frothinghams long ago.
May God bless you and yours.
Sincerely,
Dean Larson
Tescott,Kansas

MessageMy great great grandfather is James Kettell Frothingham, whose daughter, Ellen Maria Frothingham, married Samuel Hartt Pooke (sometimes spelled "Pook"smilie, my great grandfather. Their daughter was Helen Pooke Kane, but they also had a son not listed in your history, George Frothingham Pooke, who changed his name to George Pooke Frothingham. He is my grandfather. His children were Carey, Richmond and Helen Pooke Frothingham (m. Charles William Smith). Carey's children are John, George and Marshall, Richmond's children are Tempe and Robert, and Helen's children are Charles Arnold Smith and Anne Hilliard Smith. I have a portrait of James Kettell Frothingham and his 3rd wife (my great grandmother) Harriet Bound Frothingham, painted by their cousin James Frothingham. I also have napkin rings for James and Carrie (I believe this is James Frothingham who married Caroline Pooke). Would love to hear from anyone else descended from James Kettell Frothingham or Helen P. Kane.

Best,
Anne

MessageSir:

I am researching the Fabyan family. Isabel Fabyan married Perceival H. Lombard. They had three children, one of whom, Percival, Jr., married Euginia Frothingham (1908-2000).
Do you want information on Percival and Eugenia's children, etc.?

Howland Davis
