MessageEnjoyed looking through to find ancestors. I am new to this. Grandfather was Frank R Bowman; Great-grandfather was Charles Able Bowman and Maude Maria Ripley. My father was Charles Bowman and my Uncle - F. Ripley Bowman. I was adopted out of the family when I was 6 but have recently been searching for my Boston family and ancestors. I currently live in Avon CT and my husband is a Lord and a Steel. I found it interesting that a Frothingham married a Lord while still in MA before the Lord's came to CT. My husband is also 10th generation from Gov. Bradford. Thank you so much for putting up this wonderful genealogy for the rest of us to browse through.

MessageHi Arlene,

What a surprise, you can imagine, when I made a research with my grand-mother's name (Rosanna Lusignan) and I ended up with the Gilman Ancestry. My grand-mother was born in Sorel and her parents' names wer Narcisse Lusignan and Angele Salvail. I was stunned to learn that we might be related to some of the Gilman a family we did not know even existed.

You will understand I am sure that I am very curious about finding more about relatives we might still have because of the Lusignan connection.

I would appreciate if you could consider giving me your phone number in an e-mail so we could discuss it further.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my message and I hope to hear from you very soon.

MessageDue to a divorce when I was young (two years old), I didn't have any exposure to my fathers side of the family until I was 23 years old and fresh out of the military. I do know that his mother and father lived in Tulahoma, TN. I've been told that grandpa held quite a bit of land there until the great depression. Then I believe most of the sons/brothers moved north for work. My father met my mother in Detroit, MI. Some of my fathers - John Cecil - brothers names were, Harold, Clay, Norman and Freeman(?). The family had many brothers but, that's all that comes to my memory. I'll be talking with dad come this weekend, 8/28/10 and see if I can get a better picture of my roots. Don I would personally like to thank you for your research and most excellent brief history.

MessageArlene,
Would you be related to Clarabel Gilman (of Jamaica Plain) who signed our guest book in June of 1897 while visiting Ernst summer home in Manomet, MA. She organized a "botany party" here which was referenced in the New York Times.

MessageI am trying to find descendants related to Ellen Lunt (Frothingham) Ernst who was married to Harold Clarence Ernst. They did not have children of their own, but had nieces and nephews. She lived approximately from 1858 to 1937. Her brothers were Langdon, Louis and Paul. I am trying to find descendants related to them. We are having a presentation of the history of Ellen and Harold Ernst's summer estate and would like to invite Ernst and Frothingham descendants. I can be contacted at [email protected]
Thank you for postin gthis. It is such a wonderful site and I appreciate all the work that gone into creating it.

MessageMy Ancestry Tree matches to your tree for John Frothingham b 1749 & Martha May b 1763. I thank you for posting your information for others to see. I would like to ask a question about your records for the marriage of John & Martha, my records indicate that the date that you have for their marriage date is the Intention Date. My record based on shows that the marriage date is 13 Sep 1785. I am just wondering where you found your date at.
