MessageDeepest sympathies. Shawn was a shining example of positivity, kindness and passion. The best I can do is strive to express myself in the ways Shawn was able.

MessageWe'll miss you Shawn. Thank you for spreading your love and knowledge to all of us. I recently saw the show "How Bruce Lee changed the world" and Shawn Tompkins was on there. I remember saying to myself, "Wow, this guy is very intelligent." Not just his knowledge, but the way he spoke. You could tell he loved the sport and the history. So again, thank you Shawn Tompkins, rest in peace.

MessageI met Shawn in Las Vegas at UFC 109 where he was training Mark Coleman. When I told himn I was from vancouver he got really excited and talked to us for like 10 minutes about MMA, Hockey etc. After Coleman's fight which he lost rather quickly he was walking with Mark to the backstage area. With the arena music playing and hundreds of people screaming when he got somewhat close to me I yelled SHAWN! no response. then CANADA! he heard me, and as upset as I'm sure he was about the fight, recognized me and gave me a wave and a smile. Classy man. Not a lot of people care enough to do those little things all the time when nobody is paying attention. He did, and to me thats the sign of a good person. All the fighters I met, coaches etc that week didn't care. I took pictures with guys who barely acknowledged my prescence. Guys who did it because they thought it was part of the job, Shawn did it because he enjoyed it, and I a, grateful I was able to meet him and share 10 minutes of day. My deepest sympathies.
