| Message | I just want Shawn and Em's Family to know how much I respected and liked Shawn. He and I had what considered a great relationship and I was honored to be at his wedding. The news has floored me. I can not explain my feelings but will attempt to do so in the next issue of Fighters Only Magazine.It was a blessing to know Shawn and I know we related to each other in many ways in everyday life not just MMA. As sad as I am that I will not have any more memories to be made with Shawn, I am very happy about the ones I do have. Gary |

| Message | It was good knowing you. When u first started in mma, i went to XC, where I met you, then i got lazy and stopped going. Eventually, i decided to give it another go and heard you were moving to tapout training center, and since i seen your work and coaching before, i too made the move in hopes to one day get coached by you. Well i never exactly got coached by you but you did always say hi or made small talk with me whenever our paths crossed. You and Team Tompkins brought life to gym and im glad i made the decision to go there, you will be missed coach, you were an inspiration. |

| Message | The first time I saw Shawn, he was cornering Chris Horodecki at an IFL event. I remember being struck by the close bonds he seemed to share with his fighters - particularly him calling out instructions to Chris in the ring, and addressing him as "Son". I didn't know him personally, but I know the effect he had on his fighters, friends and those close to him. MMA media can be brutal sometimes, and when you fall under scrutiny no one is safe. I don't recall ever seeing a single bad word being printed about Shawn, even when he left Xtreme Couture for Tapout. He will be missed, and I send my thoughts and prayers to the Tompkins family. RIP. |
